Better than Karlsson. Only OEL is a rival.
- Marshalle

Why is he better than Karlsson? He's five months older than Karlsson, so roughly the same age, but he's never put up numbers like Karlsson. Why is he better? He's a soft player, so he doesn't have a physical edge over Karlsson...just curious as to why you think that.

These young guys are swinging for the fences out of their rookie contracts. Some of them deserve it, others certainly do not!
- LeftCoaster

There should be a automatic two year bridge contract after all ELC's. Those dollar amounts could be w/e team and player come up with. Then after that sign for w/e. Sure some players seem to have it. Like Crosby and Stamkos and what not. Some just have fluke mega season and bam paid way to much and they fall back to earth. It wouldnt hurt even the Crosby's and Stamko's if there was that auto bridge deal. Because theyre still gonna earn theyre mega pay day. Theyre bridge deal could even be a big pay day. Just hate seeing all these huge long term deals right after ELC.

Pretty soon we'll be having this discussion about Morgan Rielly.

Pietro isnt carrying enough of the work load yet. A bridge deal would be ideal. He is better player than Karlsson only because he has the better all around game. Karlsson will put up more points. But Pietro like OEL will be more valuable.

Seguin+Hamilton+Knight for Kessel
- annoyance_101

Toronto still has this deal won. Seguin is a problem child, Hamilton is/will be a journeyman at best, and the other guy is just that, the other guy.

Kessel is a top ten scorer in this league.

I've been watching Pietro work out first hand all this summer, skating in Vaughan. He looks like a beast. If St. Louis wants to let him dangle too long, he may want to leave regardless of the dollars. Big Mistake.

It might take that much to just get Pietro alone. STL isnt gonna let Backes go. Kesler who knows if he will stay healthy and get back to form. Edler is a good dman. But isnt Pietro. A Van 1st isnt usually a high pick.

Doesn't matter. It's because it's the Leafs who traded away those pieces for one player. I'm amazed it hasn't evolved into:

So the Leafs traded 2 1sts and a 2nd that turned into

Seguin, Hamilton, Knight which basically is

Loui Eriksson, Joe Morrow, Reilly Smith, and Matt Fraser, Hamilton and Knight for one player! LOL I'll take all those guys any day over one guy who is only a top 10 scorer that last 2 seasons. HAHA! LAFFS

Pietro knows its a business just like the next guys does. His agent is doing his job trying to get him the biggest dollar amount he can. It wont be any different than Subban or Doughty of the last two years. He's either gonna get his 7 or 8 year deal. Or hes gonna get a 2yr bridge deal. Itll happen one way or another.

I really dont like the Nucks. But with the Twins, Lou and a couple solid dman. Van will nvr be a top 10 draft pick team. Plain and simple.
