miller, ennis, and staff for the twins and luongo - homiedclown
I don't think that's enough. Miller and Luongo are a wash, so basically ennis and stafford for the Sedins which is not very fair for Vancouver. |
|
|
|
Doesn't that cover the whole Nucks roster then, more or less? - nfph
The last few years, yes

I think he is playing a video game or something?
In the real world Ehrhoff was useless. I was very grateful when he walked. - VANTEL
Not sure useless is the right word. Yost did an article awhile back that pretty much indicated that if Ehrhoff was on a playoff bound team, he could have been a norris trophy contender. |

In terms of talent yes but certainly not based on their contracts. |

That I disagree with though. He wasn't that good. His numbers were decent but there are 20 guys that deserved it over him |

OK useless is too stong. I am not a fan of him ,and probably need to tone it down.
I still am glad he is no longer with the Canucks.

throw in myers and a prospect if the twins get extensions |

If Buffalo had a core like the Pens Luongo would be great giving them 5 - 6 years of solid G. Lu is not really suited for the Sabres . He would also suit the Flyers . |

Although I understand Myers just came off a season that put him completely to shame, I think trading him would create an even larger hole on our blue line than we have now. I understand that a line of Vanek-Sedin-Sedin would be extremely good and would create depth in the forward ranks (Hodgson to 2nd line center, etc.), but I still don't think that that trade would make us a cup contender, and then by the time we are ready to compete with a solid blue line, Vanek and the Sedins will be too old to take over a game. |

Myers needs to stay. IMO he has a good year and builds on it. |

I just threw it out there because that is the type of move that needs to be made if they plan on keeping vanek
I am still shocked they have not moved him or miller
all of their moves so far leads to a rebuild yet the words from peggy and darcy indicate their plans to retool
the season is coming fast and I have seen no big moves to make this team even in the conversation of making the playoffs

I would trade him if it meant a good forward and a 3 or 4 dman coming back, but the problem is he isn't worth that, and a trade return that is worth than that fills almost zero needs, so I don't see a use in trading him as of now. |

Yea. I think that message was sent to him at the draft too. For me he doesn't have to be great, but he has to show that he's trying to be great |

In my opinion Vanek gets traded at the deadline and Miller walks during free agency. |

I think at this point Myers should try to imitate Ehrhoff's game with a slightly higher offensive upside. I think if he does that then that guarantees him a spot on this team and also seems like the most likely path of success for him. He'll never live up to the $7 million contract unless he comes out and wins the norris this year or at least is a contender. I think if Ristolainen pans out as projected and Zadorov turns out somewhat solid we could see in 3-4 years:
Ristolainen-Myers
Ehrhoff-Zadorov

I agree if you got the Sedins Vanek would need to stay to have the best effect.
There is little on Sabres D that would entice a trade except maybe Myers , but his salary is stupid so no.
Too be truthful it would cost more than Sabres would want to part with. I think it would start with your two first rounders this year, Foliigno and Grigo and Ott .
It would never happen |

I think if Ristolainen shows that he's ready right now at camp you'll see him on the second pairing. Zadorov I believe is someone who should be developed so that when he enters the NHL he'll be quite dominant. |

I understand that that is a completely fair trade, but no. Therefore ends the trade for the Sedins discussion. |
