Those who follow the team know goaltending isnt their most pressing need to address
- robin_steele264

even those that don't follow the team and have half a brain should know this

1. edm doesnt have the space. ***Well it would be a trade so...***
2. goaltending is probably 4th or 5th on their list of needs. **it shouldn't be***
3. dubs is signed to a much better contract. **Considering he sucks....No**
4. dubs actually put up better numbers. at half the price. and with an arguably worse defence. at least comparably bad anyways. **Miller was left to dry all year***
5. miller would prob cost a fair amount in a trade. and could walk in a year. **So could Dubnyk**
6. if edm is gonna give up a good package in a deal, theyd move for a big top 6 winger, a quality 3rd line winger or a top 4 dman, all before another goalie ** It should be***

even if miller is better than dubnyk (he has proven a lot more over his career-dubs is only 26) that deal makes no sense for edm. goaltending is NOT the issue.
***it's not???***

- tennisball

if you knew anything about hockey or the Oilers you'd realize how stupid the opinion on Dubnyk is. Especially at 26 for a goaltender...

You are right. Not picking in the top 5 is.
- RynoBull

I would agree that's one of the things edmontons trying NOT to do.
and in that case mission accomplished last year!!

You're in your basement suite in Toronto, barely scrapping by. Hard to imagine a less desirable set up. But it just may be your moms basement.

I haven't been east of Alberta in almost a decade, you (frank)ing handicap.

You're all right. Know nothing about Edmonton. I don't even know that the meal I just ate at Boston pizza on 97th and castledowns was crap. Don't even know what the city looks like. Definitely don't know that it's 3 months away from being a -40 wasteland for the next 5 months.

Stasny + Goalie for Miller + Defensive prospect?

that's totally fair.
but what I also take from your posts and from this comment is your small amount of caring = ignorance. which they also say is bliss.

don't worry, you're not alone.

I still don't understand the dubnyk Olympic reference in relation to why miller doesn't make sense to edm. i'm quite certain you don't either.
it just seems like a weak jab when you couldn't think of anything valid to say

- hugefemale dog77

Dude, its not a jab, its reality. Its Devan Dubnyk. It is what it is. If you want to crown him King, go ahead.

Between these 2 teams...if Miller is going anywhere, it will Colorado. To think edmonton is ridulous they don't have the space nor can they sign him for future
- Skeezix459

as I said before, space gets traded.

- saskoil21

Not trying at all, I suspect it would take one of the young kids to get Myers, just a discussion to discuss trades, Myers is a stud IMO, couldn't see why Edmonton wouldn't want him if he was available.

Seeing as they picked 7th I guess we can check that box.

Nice joke

- robin_steele264

I figure 7th is Edmontons ceiling, you'll be back in the top 5 again.

Kind of like Myers, he hit his ceiling his first year.....

I think its a risk/reward thing. To me, on the Sabres, Myers has major negative equity. That 7 million dollar contract is murder. If Emd got him, and he got his poop together, he could help make them a nasty team. If he continues down the current path, he will be in the discussion as an ultimate flop for a long time.

My post displays how little I care about the Edmonton Oilers.

Your post displays how little you know about hockey. Dubs wouldn't crack a single Olympic roster. Maybe Switzerland or Austria.

NHL Network never should have made that "Oil change' series. They did way to good of making a 1-3-1 homestand look like progress. Ever since you have all become a bunch of crackpots and way to in love with your own team.

- Buffalo--Sabres

How little you care about the Oilers? hahaha OMG a Buffalo fan doesn't care about the Oilers, what a shame. Your team is probably the least relevant team in the NHL nobody gives a poop about buffalo.

Yea definitely, a goalie with a .920 save percentage behind one of the worst d corps in the league definitely couldn't make even the worst of Olympic teams, for sure, cool story. Your ignorance is showing, stick to baseball donkey

We picked 7th. At least mock us accurately. Your trash talk makes you look silly. You know as well as the rest of us that with 16 teams in the conference and Vanek being your entire roster that you might be picking first this year. I wouldn't get too lippy right now.

So if Miller would solve all of the Oilers problems, why does buffalo suck so much? If Edmonton and Buffalo traded goalies last year, would the Oilers have made the playoffs? Would Buffalo? Miller was great a few years ago, not so much last year.

Nope. We are trading for prospects/picks. Not trading them away for an UFA.

Interesting but the O'Reilly Hodgson part seems completly unnecessary.

Edmonton would LOVE to have myers.
he could literally be the piece that puts this franchise over the top.

and im sure it would take one of the kids. but after two mediocre seasons, im not sure edm would be willing to gamble one of them considering that contract

The jury is still out on whether Myers is anywhere near stud... He played right at contract time and cashed in- cashed in as his last few years have been medicore to say the least... as for trading one of our top young wingers or top 3 fwd- it would simply be filling a hole and creating a hole- I sure as (frank) we wait a year and see what our d prospects do- like Nurse Klefbom etc... that is worth more of the risk than losing a player like RNH for Myers IMO...

When was the last time the Edmonton Oilers finished higher than Buffalo in the Standings? 2001? So if Buffalo sucks so bad what is Edmonton?
