2. goaltending is probably 4th or 5th on their list of needs. **it shouldn't be***
3. dubs is signed to a much better contract. **Considering he sucks....No**
4. dubs actually put up better numbers. at half the price. and with an arguably worse defence. at least comparably bad anyways. **Miller was left to dry all year***
5. miller would prob cost a fair amount in a trade. and could walk in a year. **So could Dubnyk**
6. if edm is gonna give up a good package in a deal, theyd move for a big top 6 winger, a quality 3rd line winger or a top 4 dman, all before another goalie ** It should be***

1. miller costs 7 mill. it'd have to be a huge piece they're taking back. and then what with dubs' 3.5? i suppose its possible. but extremely unlikely. especially after all the reasons I attempted to explain.

no it's not. dubs had a solid year and his numbers prove it. especially behind that defence. size and grit in our forward core is a much bigger issue. as is depth and quality on our backend.

League-wide we've been "promised" fireworks by the msm at each trade deadline and offseason for how many years? It's just not going to happen now. Maybe a few small trades and waiver pickups. That's about it.

I agree that Edmonton needs a top 4 dman like they need a hole in the head. Thats all they have. They need a top 2. They do however need a third line. Dubnyk is cheap and if they doubted his ability they would not have but Laberbabebabraere in net behind him. I don't think Either defense is going to be top 25 this year but with that said, Edmonton has shown they are not trying to win this year again. The only thing they want is to part with Hemsky for a couple of guys that will never play in the NHL or maybe our 11th NHL ready dman.

Compare quality of living, discretionary income, wage growth, services etc. with some places in the US that have hockey teams. Then shut your (frank)ing yap. Didn't Detroit just go bankrupt? They have garbage piling up on the streets....meanwhile we are piling up DIRT and BUILDING because our economy is not in the toilet like most of North America...yeah, Edmonton sure is lousy.

Yeah it's nonsense.

It's a great city to live in. I lived there or a while. Not my home but I couldn't understand what people go on about saying its crappy. It's one of the most prosperous cities in the country. Nice people, and it's got everything you need/want in a big city.

It also constantly ranks very high in 'best places to live' measurements that Macleans and other media outlets put together from time to time.
