Interested to know what part of my post wasn't accurate and where it became funny?

Youre more sensative then the skin for most Gillette products.

First I'm funny, now I'm sensitive? How so? Also, Gillette products have skin?

I think McDonald gets 4-5 years around $3.5m to $4m.

In a few years we'll be looking at:

Hamonic - Pulock -- shutdown & offensively aware
Reinhart - MacDonald -- pure shutdown
deHaan - Donovan - shutdown & offensively aware

Plus we really don't even know what Pedan, Pelech, Mayfield, etc. may turn into.

All I know is we WILL have stellar defense by the 2015 season.

EDIT: Reinhart & Pulock give me a Suter & Weber feel. One is in control of the offense and the other plays an exceptional 2 way game.

"MacDonald should not be referred to as a shut down Dman. Unless you have an askewed view of what one should be. He gets outmuscled in front of his own net on a consistent basis, he has zero physical aspect to his game, and the one area he needs to be strong in which is his positional play due to his lack of physicality he isn't. He's just not that good. If he's on our second pairing in 5 years I'd have a hard time calling our defense stellar in any way unless he shows drastic improvement in his game. "

I like amac as a bottom pairing D-man, but in a couple of years all of the prospects will pretty much pass him by. I sure hope they will otherwise they're in trouble

Agreed!! If Amac was to stay I would expect at MOST 2 years 2.5 per...too much coming down the pipe to lock him up longer and for more!

Go look at the market. It is what he will get, especially for being short changed the last 2 years at $660k.

Opinions go either way on AMac - I think he will be around for a while and that he is part of the core. I dont think its fair to say the 10 prospects below him are better and will take his spot. They've proven nothing at the NHL level yet and who know's if they deHaan themselves with injuries.

AMac is a servicable player - fit for a 2nd pairing role for the next year years as the prospects develop more.

The competition wont really start nudging on him for another 2 year MINIMUM.

Well you kind of did that in your last post by having Pulock on the first pairing?

My feeling is A MAc should not be in the NHL he is another Chris Campoli in my mind. He is a good 6 or 7th defenseman and that is it. The Islanders should not resign and just let him go. Some other team will pick him up and then we wont see or hear from him again in the NHL

A Mac is a nice guy, but at 2 milly, If I am him, I am on top of the world. 2 Milly per, on a longer deal, and you have a serviceable guy for the next 3 years, until the kids have come along, and pushed him out.

Yes this year he is needed on this team at this current time, but is it really far fetched to assume that their D prospects who were all drafted in the 1st & 2nd rd will turn out to be better then amac? I don't think so. I'm curious as to what you think amac does so well to get top 4 money in his next contract.

No. You said we can't say guys coming up aren't going to be better than players we already have and you actually did. Didn't cling onto anything.

Exactly, he's a "servicable" Dman. I think some Isles fans forget what a legit 1st or 2nd pairing guy looks like. IMO Hamonic isn't one yet either(1st pairing). He has the skill set and drive to be one but I wouldn't call him one yet. I believe he will be one day.

Youre that guy who sits on a hockey blog all day, gets extremely offended by anyone who disagrees with you, cant see another side of an argument without having to be the right one, and probably suffers from being passive aggressive.
