Calgary won't sign these guys because they could be very good.

After getting rid of Ing, Kip?, and Bou the last thing they want to do during a rebuild is bring in a few guys that could take them from dead last to 5-6 last.

Its gonna take a lot more than Monahan to turn this club into a contender.

Calgary probably needs 3 years with bottom 5 finishes to create a successful franchise.

I wouldn't mind giving Mueller a shot but he seems like he'd be a bigger stempniak. Not necessarily a bad thing all the time but he could be streaky. And with 47 contracts already it could be a risk not so much financially but contractually to keep a, most likely, third liner like Mueller when there are quite a few players already competing for roster spots. I feel like the flames should/will stand pat with the players they have until A) after camps and preseason when they have better accessed their roster and B) (more to the Bryzgalov side of things) get the final decision from Kipper. Bryzgalov could do well in calgary because of the smaller market and less spotlight to cause problems, not to mention he could do well in tandem with Ramo, playing in the KHL would probably help with chemistry between the two. Only if Berra and/or Ramo doesn't work out though.

Especially when I don't get paid, just that satisfaction of people hating me that I don't know.

It always pisses me off when people compare rebuilds. Not all are created equal. Some teams start with assets to build around. Some don't have that luxury. Or have assets to trade to speed a rebuild. Can everyone just stop comparing? Its never apples to apples comparison.

I would hope Calgary can do it faster than Edmonton and the Islanders. They started with better assets.

Common sense would dictate that you don't finish in the lotto 3 years in a row and then win the cup. Even Pittsburgh with Crosby and Malkin managed to end up picking 2nd overall
