I would take Jamie Benn over all couture, yet he didnt even get the invite. Watch them come crawling back to him once him and seguin have a lights out start to the season.

That being said...

Crosby with Duschesne would be sick, and they have skated together at different times at least the last couple summers. Add Stamkos to that line.... Gulp....

I also think Crosby and Taveres would work well together.

I do think Duchene has a legit chance of making the team, since he does and can play LW, and yes being Crosbys work out buddy for the past 2 offseasons, you know they have to had a few on ice skating sessions together.

Add his recent preformances on the big ice (spengler and 2013 worlds), its not ouf the question for him to make the team.

I think the other options are able to do what he does as well, but with even more talent.

I have not seen the entire list of players on TSN but after I look I will let you know what I think. However, I admit I am a Kunitz fan. His work ethic and determination are intangibles that can pay dividends in tournament play. Frankly, he is a pest.

No! You could put a monkey on skates and he would get as many points as Kunitz.

Clearly I agree that he should not be on Team Canada however, his 2nd best point total (60) as an NHL player came in Anaheim during 2006-2007. His personal best is 61 points during 2011-2012 and he was with Malkin* . He is not completely a product of Crosby. He is a very good player in his own right.

*Yes, I understand Malkin is pretty good too*

- Ryan_Wilson

Oh I agree he just reminds me very much of Simmonds, but better obv. 2nd line player on pretty much any team, hell 3rd on maybe 3 teams.
He is a solid 2nd line player, that plays tough and rough. I'd take him on the Flyers any day
However he shouldn't make this Team Canada, much better talent out there IMO. He could make the 2nd Canadian Olympic team!

Because Iggy is starting to show his age. He is not what he used to be. There is only room for 1 older veteran on this team and his name is Martin St. Louis.

I may be one of the only ones, but I vote yes. Why not cater to the best player on the team? Nobody doubts that Crosby can create chemistry with any player he wants, but can he do it in 2 weeks? The fact is nobody knows where Crosby will be and how he plays better than Kunitz and for that reason, if I'm picking this team, he's on it. Every year Canada doesn;t win, people complain that it's because we pick an allstar team rather than choosing the best player for each position. Well guess what the best player for Crosby's wing, is Kunitz.

Burrows would make a great top line player with Crosby. He's proved he can play on the first line and excel. Not to mention he was a ball hockey championship under his belt.

If Kunitz makes this team it will be right up there with the Rob Zaumner pick of '98

It will all depend on how he plays (if picked). If he's a contributor and Crosby plays great, no one will be bashing the decision then.

I just feel there are probably 6-8 guys that will not make this team that are a better choice then Kunitz. Kunitz is a good player but he has the luxury being on a team with Crosby, Malkin, Neal ect.

I would say Canada has the most talented players in the world they need to sprinkle in a few players like Kunitz to make it a more complete roster. I think a guy like Sharp should be on that roster. Not saying it needs to be Kunitz but players of his ilk would be good for them.
So in closing I hope they don't take him or any players like him. I hope they put the Harlem Globetrotters out there and lose. Preferrably to the US in the gold game.

As far as the "on the fence" guys go, I would rather go with Duchene, Eberle, Couture, Sharp, Jordan Staal, even James Neal over Kunitz.

Sharp would be my #1 guy from that list. Staal would be last. It's a shame you just made a list that would be the top 2 lines for most countries

Ummmm this one seems like a no-brainer from here, and I really hope the TSN crew are just trying to (frank) with us.

If playing with Crosby can make an otherwise unremarkable Kunitz 2nd in NHL scoring, imagine what playing with Crosby could do for Stamkos?

Plus, if I were Taylor Hall and left off the team because of this, I would be working on acquiring my US citizenship in time for 2018.

Seriously - why not Moulson to play with Tavares then, too?

The funny thing about these decisions is that you can be incredibly right with your logic but since it is a two week tournament any decision you make can blow up in your face (or be a homerun). Only hindsight will provide the answers.

Yep, and lot of folks here think they know precisely what is best. Sorry, it's just not that easy.
