Does anyone else here still hope that a Flyers gets back at Havlat for his cheap shot to Recchi?

So you think Hockey Canada is pissed off because they want Giroux healthy and available come February? His health has zero to do with why Hockey Canada is upset. Hockey Canada's gripe is foolish and petulant.
- MJL

No that's not why Hockey Canada is disappointed. Nothing they were doing at this camp was going risk further injury to Giroux. he wasn't going to be forced to play ball hockey and risk further injury....

So what is the big issue. "It is a big issue that Giroux missed the orientation camp because ___________."

Secretly he hates Canada. He's getting ready to pull a Brett Hull and play for the US.

Hockey Canada can be disappointed all they want, but Claude Giroux signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Flyers--that is priority #1. Since Giroux was recently injured, and it's so close to training camp, it makes no sense for Giroux to go an orientation considering the fact that he is already a lock for the team. If they are so upset about his refusal to go, then maybe they shouldn't have him on the team.

As for the ball hockey thing, I can't imagine Giroux being there and not playing. Babcock had already begin sorting out the lines just for experimentation, Giroux, if he had attended, would have been out there. And just so you know, he might have not re-injured his finger, but what would have happened if he pulled a groin? Yeah, I'm glad he passed on the invitation.

I get that and I respect that. The flyers pay his salary but I understand hockey Canada and there viewpoint as well. They want Giroux healthy and available come February.

If that was the case, they wouldn't mind him staying home near his doctors to properly rehab. Did they expect the doctors to accompany him on the trip as well?

As a Flyers fan first, I find all the jingoistic stuff to be kind of odd. I rooted for Canada in 2010, because they had more Flyers than the US. National teams really inspire little passion in me.

Same fact for you. Brett Hull was a dual citizen and played for the U.S after getting cut from Canadas world junior team.

yup great point... you know being in a third world country like Canada we don't have doctors up here and hockey Canada being a new organization on a shoe string budget...they don't have staff doctors at camp

The right decision is staying with the doctors he's been seeing.

It's not about having doctors or not. His point was to stay with the same doctors, the ones who have been monitoring him and administering any treatment/rehab since day 1. I really fail to see why an injured player not attending a small orientation camp is a big deal when a series of phone calls can accomplish the same thing.

Dude, really, what the hell? Who said they were still crying? I said it was a bad call that they probably regretted. You need to chill a bit.

Missing the point completely. If your under the care of a Doctor, and a rehab specialist who has been handling your injury, do want to leave that and deal with someone else, this close to training camp and the Season? No you don't. If you're the Flyers, do you want Giroux interupting his therapy to go to the Olympics Orientation? No you don't. It has nothing to do with not having Doctors in Canada.

They should be. Wasn't the final game in Montreal? That ending was hysterical.
