It really is about togetherness...

What Campbell was saying was "I hope you enjoyed that one good season you had Tom, because you'll be out of the NHL in two years while I'm making 7.1 a season."

Nah, Vanek did it that year

If ever there was a guy who piggy backed off offensive dynamos letting him play on the PP it's Preissing.

If Nonis can't get Franson and Kadri under contract and under the cap, then I guess we'd have to say that his mistake was in one of 3 possible culprits:

1. His UFA signings.

2. Trading for Bolland.

3. Trading for Bernier.

Personally, I feel he had to sign the players he did. If not Bozak, it would have been somebody else for even more money. Clarkson was a necessary move to make us better in an area we desperately needed: power wingers with some jam.

The Bolland move was decent, especially when you consider we were able to shed Grabo's salary anyway. We get a better option at 3C for over 2 million less.

I guess that leaves us with Bernier. We took on 2.4 million dollars for this upcoming season to address a non-issue. He had better play like the goalie we thought we were getting, or this might be seen as the move that broke us.

I would say he blew it by paying Clarkson 5.25.this guy has scored 30 goals once and hasn't scored 20 in any other season.with such a young team nonis could've signed Brendan morrow(still unsigned)who is same type of player and has a ring, has great leadership for about 2 mill less and then no problem at all.everyone would be signed and under cap.if they let cody franson get away for nothing nonis is a tool.he lead the defenseman in scoring.plus kadri should be happy to take the bridge deal.it puts him in a better position to bargain when and if he puts up points like he just did for a full season.i can't stand all these players and agents who are trying to cash in long term with one season of production.in kadri's case half a season.

I see that, his stats are so franked up. He had 2 decent seasons, and it all fell apart.

Getting to play on the PP with Joe Thornton in his Art Ross/Hart year, Cheechoo in his Rocket year and Marleau having one of his best ever.

Then Playing on the Sens when they had the Heatley-Spezza-Alfie superstar line.

Too bad he couldn't defend or skate to save his life

Just maybe we give Clarkson a few games as a Leaf before saying Nonis blew it.

Geez, he hasn't even had a practice yet.
