Bad idea. I've had the opportunity to sit in the players lounge after games, it is quite obvious when he is the one getting drinks for the kids - He is not the leader. I believe he has a chance of not making the team out of training camp. He MAY be the 6th left winger behind Hall, Perron, Johensuu, Jones, And Ryan Hamilton. Retirement or waivers could be in his near future. He was after all our worst forward last season. - Gordoil
Ben Eager did get sent down to the minors, Smytty wasn't the Smytty we're used to, but we could have done a lot worse. He did after all bail us out of a jam when all our centers went on the shelf. |

Those are important things. I guess I missed that as being a big deal because of the experience through out the B's line up. I do remember how much of an impact that Recchi had, and it was huge even for the older guys on our team to have that guy who has been there, done that. To bad he turned into a bit of an asshat towards the end. - seabass21
Are you referring to the Dr. Recchi incident? |

I would like to see him paired with Justin Schultz or Petry this year. His professionalism and work ethic would be good for the kids to be around. - Dangles13
For sure. I see the Ference schulz pairing as a better option personally. But our best offensive d man with our most responsible. Think that our first pass out of the zone will be much better |

This, I'm sure this is a paring we will see. At some point atleast. |

I agree. Put the "C" on Smyth for the upcoming season. He's definitely earned it with all of those years he put in with the Oilers. A fitting tribute for our beloved veteran. Give the young guys another year of "seasoning", while paying tribute to an Oiler Legend......yes, I said it, and I meant it.

I wish we had a veteran puck mover who could impart some knowledge with Petry. Every year I think he's going to turn the corner offensively but he just seems to scared to be out of position. |

Thats not necessarily a bad thing. Once he feels he solid defensively or at least feels it he will start to push the offence. |

Explain... - HouseArrest187
When Pacioretty got murdered by Chara, Recchi said maybe Pacioretty embellished his injury to get Chara suspended. Rechi said something about Pacioretty going to movies so obviously his injury isn't as severe as we're lead to believe. Cammalleri chirped Recchi calling "Dr. Recchi". |

I feel like he has offensive potential bubbling under the surface and I would like to see it come out. |

Remember when not trading him was a "free" deadline pickup to bolster the Oiler's playoff chances?

Remember when the Oilers traded Pronger and the following season the defence wasn't going to be an issue because they'd have a 300 goal offence because every player would have a career year? |
