Total luck. You telling me that Lupul and Gardiner wasn't pure luck? - honesthockey
No. Not at all.
Bob Murray was an idiot, but that isn't luck. |

The whole point of there being nothing in the prospect pool when Burke got here. This is just getting ugly now. Come on, you can't be this dense. - systemtool
Hey dumbass I'm pointing out even the Stanley cup champions have more players in their lineup drafted in the same time frame as Burke was GM here.

And I'll say he's way overrated. But I respect your opinion. - honesthockey
Well it'll be interesting to see how the core he put together in TO does this year and for the next few. His reputation is still to be fully determined. Still, if I recall correctly since 1967 only a couple of dozen gms have Stanely Cup rings and Burke is one of them. |

So Bob Murray played that situation well? It's one of, if not the worst example of asset management the last few years. |

You're just melting down now. Have a good tirade.
It's not Burkes fault that when he got here he had no quality prospects to force into his line up. Please, just stop already. This is pathetic.

Should have went with guys that we drafted.
Therefor, he must think Bozak wouldnt be playing.

And most agree Burke inherited that lineup. I'll give him credit for adding Scott Niedermayer or should I credit Niedermayers brother. |

Burke inherited the biggest mess in the NHl in 2009'. He did a solid job. Especially considering how much crap he was getting. The Kessel trade sert the Leafs back 15 years. I believe I kept hearing that |

Drafting a superstar in late rounds is luck, making a trade that works really well is savvy. |

Agreed. He just didn't draft well enough to make this true.

And that's always been a myth. Burke changed 100% of Anaheim's defense. But he inherited the team?
Burke actually built much more of Vancouver than Bryan Murray did in Anaheim. |

No need for name calling. (and that's not just at you)
And that's great that Chicago have more guys drafted in their lineup. Burke on the other hand is someone who preferred giving guys time to grow. Even Bobby Ryan, 2nd overall pick, did three years in the minors to get ready, then came in and delivered. |

Any drafts picks that don't make the NHL in 2-3 years are all busts. |

That's fine. I just don't see all these NHLers in the Leaf system.

So what was lucky about Anaheim? Bob Murray just made a terrible move not re-signing Beauchemin to begin with. Gardiner was a first round pick, it's not exactly some fluke he looks promising. |

It's pretty sad how uneducated he is about hockey.
He's basically a walking contradiction.
Bozak is only playing in the NHL because Burke didnt draft well enough, but Bozak is great and SHOULD be the leafs first line center.
This guy man... Wow. |
