Melnyk mad Burke drafted Kadri

There's no Bozak/Grabo rationalizing with The President or Big Dion. I get that they're upset we lost Grabo (and for nothing at that), but the gazillion posts raging on Bozak like it's his fault defies logic. I said it in the EK post the other day, Kadri cost Grabo his job, not Bozak. Bozak is a different player who started the season, ended the season and was resigned in the same position as 1C. It was Kadri that played onto the roster as 3C at the start of the season, out played Grabo to get 2C during the season, and forced Grabo into a poorly suited 3C. Buying out that brutal 5.5M contract for a guy playing 3C was a must to reset the team payroll for centres. Any UFA centre we could have chased and especially Kadri would just point to that as the teams value on centres.

I still think Kadri takes a 2 year bridge deal at just under 3M/year midway through training camp once he sees Carlyle testing other players like Bolland or Colborne at 2C. I don't think he misses a single regular season game.

Just so everyone knows, resident favorite Travis Yost has been attacked across all media platforms of the web by Euge Melnyk and associates, you can't comment on his blogs without someone removing comments, now they're locked, and his twitter and every blog he ever wrote dating back to May 2010 was deleted from hockeybuzz in an attack.

This, shortly following a set of weird phishing attempts trying to get his IP address.

Point being, the idiotic old man has paid some ukranians he works with in a charity to attempt to wipe anything Yost has to say about his shady practices and his leveraging of the Sens to support his failing businesses from the internet.

Kadri wanting 6 years at 5/6M is insane!

My best guess is Kadri sucks it up midway through training camp takes a 2 year deal averaging just under 3M/year for 2 years. Franson holds out until a few weeks in the season then one of a few things happens; Liles is traded and Franson takes just over 3/year bridge, or Franson gets trade, or he begrudgingly takes a 1 year at under 3.

Bottom line is Nonis remains patient and both RFA learn exactly what that status means under this CBA/cap.

What's with all the talk of a bridge deal for Franson? The guy is not that young. He's 26. Bridge deals are for guys coming off ELCs. And why would the Leafs want a bridge deal? It makes no sense. A bridge deal takes him right into UFA.

Yes, and mentioning Kadri in the same breath as Duschene or Subban at their respective points in their careers is a bit absurd: half a year a long-term contract does not make.

My only fear is that Kadri is buying into the hype (and I wouldn't put it past him given his cockiness) and truly thinks he's "arrived" and is using guys like that as comparables. When you were putting up nearly a PPG in the AHL, Kadri, guys like Duschene were doing that in the NHL, on a non-playoff team for the most part.
