Lol he plays in the AHL he doesn't count. I wish he could be a Shawn Thorton type guy but his skating is just so bad.

He is a better fighter then Barch imo but doesnt have a lick of hockey skill Iv always liked Prust and Neil for guys who can play hockey and fight guys you can have on your roster every night. Thornton is the same but he is getting there in age

Prust use to be a punching bag before he went to the rangers he has some skills in that category now though for sure. Barch is useless may actually be worse then Cam. I wish we made a play for George Parros this year or a year ago. He's a Jersey guy and one of the top fighters out there. I believe he can play a little too more so then Cam or Barch at least.

They are slower, but they don't really play a speed game, so it's ok.

It will be interesting if Clowe can stay healthy cause he is someone who will be in the lineup that can mix it up havent had a power forward like him in a while I know Clarkson was similar but He is way smaller My money would be on Clowe in a fight

Clarkson may be faster then Jagr but Jaromir can still skate circles around him. Clarkson is the worst skater in the league hands down. I thought this was well known.

Honestly I probably watched five or six Devils games last year and probably 12 the year before. I never got the sense Clarkson was a speed demon but honestly thought he was quicker than a guy like Clowe. Maybe I am off on Clarkson; I can't say I kept reports on the guy.

I saw Clowe play a lot last year, both with San Jose and the Rangers and he certainly has to be one of the slowest forwards in the game. That being said, if he stays healthy I can still see him approach 20 goals and I like his toughness. He's a good player even if I wouldn't want to be saddled with that contract. Although the Jackets doled out a pretty penny for Horton, another oft-concussed player, so we'll just have to see how it works out.

Clowe has the size and strength to match up better with the bigger fighters in the league while Clarkson is more of that "middle-weight" type of player. I agree that I'd take Clowe to win a fight between the two.

He has decent speed but he can never stand up for a full shift. That's all i was saying he definitely has some speed but his balance is the absolute worst Ive ever seen. He looks like a newborn calf on a lot of shifts. I hate clowe's contract too but i love him as a player. Just hope he can stay healthy and produce at a decent clip. Hope Horton works out for CBJ but he's probably a bigger injury risk then clowe. Much much better player though.

Clarkson got softer the more points he put up to and when he wasnt scoring he didnt really go back to mucking it up kept trying to hard to score thats what disappointed me about Clarky the last 2 years At the very worst in my opinion they cancel each other out

Thing is you don't want a guy with concussion history exchanging blows to the head. Clowe provides a bigger physical presence. Clarky tried but like someone said his a middleweight. Tell ya one thing Clarky over the last two years started to talk way too much instead of just playing hockey. That i will not miss at all.

If he plays more than 6 games this year I will be surprised, especially with the addition of Clutterbuck.

You guys have Martin not like you need a fighter after that. Got the pleasure of witnessing him KO Kostopolous last year. That was one hell of a punch he threw.

going to have to agree with just about everything here. Watched a replay of one of our games the other night. We're really going to miss Kovalchuk. 225lb mule that was also fast, agile, hands, wrister, 1-timer, shootout wiz.. the guy was a machine. People say we'll be fine because now it'll be a more team-focused game. And maybe, after watching last year, Kovalchuk only worked out well in NJ when Parise was also a primary player, and captain. .. so all eyes weren't on Kovy. Either way, we'll miss him.. a lot. No one else on the roster can be a difference maker, game-breaker, that he was.

I'm gonna miss Kovy no doubt about it. Fan favorite and I remember how hyped I was when we traded for him watching that first game and thinking that was going to be the year and then Philly had to happen..
