Toews is a lot more comparable to Trottier than Stamkos will ever be to Gretzky. And no that isn't a slight on Stamkos. If you wanted to pick an Oiler to make your comparison move valid Kurri would have been more accurate.

Who in here said Toews was better? All i see are ppl saying they'd rather have Toews on their team because he's more of a team player, is a proven winner, who has played all situations and succeeded. Stamkos, does he score 60 without St.Louis, and if he doesn't, how does the rest of his game make up for scoring less? Do we notice serious holes that the 60 goal output hid from our awareness? Who knows, and that's personally why i take Toews. Stamkos with Kane though, you gotta believe he'd at least flirt with 50 there, Stammer is definitely the better goal scorer of the two.

Head to head, I think Toews could shutdown Stamkos. Stamkos would have no chance of shutting down Toews. I'd pick Toews, am I biased ... probably that too.

Head to head, I think Toews could shutdown Stamkos. Stamkos would have no chance of shutting down Toews. I'd pick Toews, am I biased ... probably that too.

Before last year I woulda said toews. But after seeing him crying like a baby in the playoffs when things didnt go his way, I would have to say Stammer. Toews also managed to destroy any comparisons he had to Yzerman with his temper tantrums.

Yeah, um, too bad the only thing anyone will ever remember about that Hawks Wings series is the fact that the Hawks came back down 3-1. Toews "destroys any comparisons he had to Yzerman" in a 2nd round series his team won on way to winning a Cup? Did u watch this man who's "destroyed" his credibility play in games 4, 5 ,and 6 of the Finals?
