Fist, very close call but I would go with Toews. |

Stamkos the more "skilled" player, but I would take Toews as the more all around guy. |

This is a difficult decision, but I would take Toews for his two-way play. I have always asked myself a similar question, Stamkos vs. Tavares. |

I think that is debatable Stamkos probably has the upper hand offensively but that is one aspect of hockey so it doesnt really make him the better player I would take Toews right now because he is a proven winner. Thats not to say Stammer wont win a cup but if I where to pick today I would Take Toews |

Both great players but play a different style of game so it makes it tough to compare head to head. |

I would easily take Stamkos. Guys who score 60 goals a season before they turn 25 aren't guys you pass over. |

Toews. Not that its a slam dunk even for a Hawks' fan. The difference for me comes down to the majority of Cup winners have had elite two way centers leading the way. |

Lol so you pass over the better player for a better "leader?" Toews is a winner because he played with Kane, Keith, Sharp, Seabrook, etc. aka arguably the best team in the NHL for a few of Toews' seasons. Stamkos on CHI is just as good a "leader" and just as much a winner. |

Todd did some stats the other day that show that Toews is just behind Stammer with alot less minutes played |

This reminds me of all the people who insisted Trottier was better than Gretzky because he played the better all-around game. |

Offensively speaking, comparing Stamkos to Toews is apples to oranges. Stamkos is by far the better player offensively. |

Majority is the key word, bro. I guess Messier wasn't elite. |

Before last year I woulda said toews. But after seeing him crying like a baby in the playoffs when things didnt go his way, I would have to say Stammer. Toews also managed to destroy any comparisons he had to Yzerman with his temper tantrums. |

Even as a Lightning I paused for a moment, but I took Stammers.... Only just. |
