Any of you guys nervous that he'll pull an Erixon?
- whipper334

Hell ya I am.....until he signs on the dotted line I'm scared.

That being said, I have had a few friends play in the Flames organization and everyone they say they are top notch when compared to some others, so I know they are treating him like gold.

I think with the amount of prospects (especially from the NCAA) the Flames have he would look at them as a place with great opportunity. Especially when it comes to making the team and getting some legitimate ice time.

Its always been of my opinion that players would rather be in a situation where they can come into a rebuilding team like the Flames and get a ton of icetime and experience and likely speed up their development, compared to joining a team filled with vets where you are likely watching from atop eating popcorn.

I think Gaudeau is very excited to join the Flames and given how hes been treated so far I dont think the whole Erixon thing even comes to mind.

Don't get surprised to see him up with the Flames after the BC season is over. I'm not as concerned, last years WJC had some monster dmen & good future power forwards that he played against & he faired well. Like Monahan, if he plays well, he'll get his chance to stick with the big club. Nothing wrong with that.

Another note in your blog is how fans are talking about how bad we a going to do next year, but you forgot to mention that most Flames fans are probably more excited about going into this year than any of the past 3 years. We all knew this team was never going to contend for a Cup with the old core we had. The stars were no longer stars, just players riding the their stardom into the sunset.

Is this even a possibility? I was under the impression that he was looking to finish his College degree and not just the hockey season.

Most guys can do both at the same time....but he would be in his 3rd year only I believe. I think he probably is staying for hockey reasons, not school reasons.

He can join after his college season is over...which he hinted to the fact that he very well might do if things go well for him and the team will have him.

connor mcdavid...

is that the reason u guys dont want to grab any other players to improve the team? you want to finish dead last and aquire this kid?

seems like it to me! grabo is better than every forward on the team lol

- big_dion

They did grab players that will improve the team long term. Not bandaid players like they've done on the last decade.

I think it's more of a Minnesota approach to the rebuild. They're building up stock on young players, and when these players are ready to make a splash they'll add a couple key players to the mix and will be in the playoffs. About 3 years till that happens, unless we have a surprise in net sooner, then 2 (and they would squeek in on effort)

Nothing like dropping several hundred dollars to go watch the Flames play a 2-1 snorefest. Have fun with that.

Fnnnnnnnnnnn right!!!

I do believe he wanted to finish at least his 3rd year & also, I think there was some incentive to play with his brother this year. Thing, after the last WJC I tink he can just taste the big leagues now & the money wont be so bad as well

(frank) off! That was the last 3 years. Now at least I don't need to pay & watch players make millions & millions to float around at a snooze fest. So scram.

There seems to be this perception the Flames have always had a tough time scoring goals......but it's just not the case.

While I can agree with parts of this colin, I still think its up to the team to make sure they don't rush anything. Its all fine a dandy that we give the players a ton of ice time, but if theyare constantly getting bebeat down/losing ypure not going to develop is the right manor. I love the flames prospects, but them alone are not good enough to be competitive. So a fine balance of vets with high leadership skill sets amd then a nice blend of 23-28 year old players with skill personally I think that's what will expedite the process. The vets leave or retire and the rooks will slot in full time 2-4 years from now. Kinda echos the thought of dumping cammy. Except I'd like to see a vet ++ or a few mid lvl players come in. I'm having a hard time finding the identityy of thse flames. Tjat said its year one and I have confedence feaster will do it right. Fingers crossed that he employs a few more staff and also stays transparent with the direction he intends to take.

Haha who cares what he thinks. Yea he seems to be from bc but if it weren't for gretzky his team and half the teams in the west wpuldnt exist. Not to mention we pay higher ticket prices to subsidize those sunbelt teams. Look at how much debt the kings have vs the flames either wayI'm not sure why you guys would bite on that lamers comments. Kings are quite a boring teamto watch.
