2 points I put in Yost's new thread.

1. Don't try be something that isn't already out there. Being a bi-polar insider/non-insider lead to loyal guys leaving. Put an honest opinion out there on the topics at hand on a regular basis and you'll be fine. Even after Milhouse left, one issues with Scott Pattitson was he wasn't consistent in his blogging. Now Clouts was consistent, but he didn't have consistent relevant topics.

2. Gamedays must be posted as early as possible. No point in having gameday threads an hour before the game.

It wasn't consistent though. One day he'd try be an insider, the next he'd have a regular hockey blog, the next he'd troll TOR/CGY/whoever for losing, and then the next he'd be just a guy complaining that people think he's an insider.

Just simply giving an analysis of the game, and talking about a rumor here and there from actual NHL sources would be a great start.

Interesting looking at the roster for the rookie camp. I'm from Lethbridge so am very excited to see Ty Rimmer on the list, I had no idea he was on the Oilers radar. I've watched him a lot and he can be amazing.

I don't know if you folks read it, but someone stuck a blog up on the Edmonton Oilers website. Looks like it came from a writer with NHL.com. I'm not sure if he knows anything about the Oilers though. Anton Belov was lower on the depth chart than Corey Potter and Philip Larsen and it's Oscar, not Oskar.



Sigh.



Why the Oilers haven't hired me by now to work for their website is anyone's guess.

On what you may have heard about him . . . NO WAY, my kid is a minor hockey goalie here and has spent time on the ice with him at camps ect and thinks he's the greatest. Super nice kid, goes out of his way to make the younger ones feel important.

Would be a good first step getting on in Backersfield.

Personally, I have a hard time faking interest in 3rd and 4th liners that have no future with the club. I'd rather read 9 blogs on Martin Marincin's skating stride than 1 about anyone named Hamilton or Arcobello. Even if they beat the odds and make something of themeselves because they lack size and grit they simply turn into chips we flip for picks or package off anyway.

Maybe its just me.

my biggest issue was with people trashing the city of Edmonton. I am not even from there and think it is just plain ignorant. Plus those idiots always assumed I was from there just because I am an Oilers fan. They should get a ban just for stupidity.

I like Edmonton for visiting. I didnt overly enjoy living there, but I was in bad area too. Plus Id be driving along going to say 113st get to 109,110,111 then bam 115' where the (frank) did the rest of them go. (frank)

The ignorance and stupidity of the people (who were mostly from the US) that made ridiculous comments about the cold and snow. Montreal gets way more snow and the average temperature isn't more than a degree or 2 colder than Calgary. The "no one wants to live there" fallacy that was portrayed was just stupid.
