To this point in their careers Reimer has been the more established goalie with the better numbers. That's not saying Bernier can't win the starters job.

And as for the hot chicks from Montreal, they look great at 20-28......but most of them end up stripping and once they hit the 30 mark, the dozen or so years of booze, drugs and stripping catch up to them. Plus they've probably popped out a kid or two. Then they retire to the strip joints in ottawa and toronto where they're on at 4pm in the afternoon hoping to score a sugar daddy who won't mind their herp filled snatches. Then there's the poutine effect which makes them fat and disagreeable.

And as offensive as this post is, it's the truth.

Then we have a somewhat expensive, but capable back-up for a while. Nonis will look a little silly if he can't recoup a decent package for Bernier, but a 3rd liner and a 2nd pick is not an overpayment for potential, in my opinion.

I think it was an alright deal even if Bernier doesn't become the clear #1, because of his potential. If he does, it was a steal. I just want to make it clear that either scenario is well within the realm of possibility.

I was going to ask how much a 40-50 point d-man capable of playing 24 minutes and shorthanded time, with 200 hits was worth in terms of salary.

All I'm saying, if the Leafs have no plan of extending Phaneuf past this season. I'd rather they trade him now at the start of the season to the Oilers, a higher chance of a better return now, rather than waiting till the trade deadline to a contender or just hanging on to him and losing him for nothing.

The fact that a goalie made a save and Carlyle's penalty kill that wasn't let the opponents do whatever the (frank) they want don't pressure them that Wilson had. That helped too.

You'd be surprised how many of kessel's points Dion was in on. And how well our PK played with Dion on the ice. I agree, it was a team effort, but Dion was our #1 d-man.....you remove him and give his ice time to guys like Gunnarson, and to Franson earlier in the season, we'd be hurting.
