TV breakdown for Leafs this year: 17 games on Leafs TV, with 23 for Sportsnet, 17 on TSN and 25 on HNIC.

I get LeafsTV, but not in HD. Frustrating as all hell.

I live in the country, so the only real TV choice is Bell Satellite. Their basic TV packaget does not incluce TSN, SportsNet or LeafsTV.

I can add SportsNet HD for $2.50/mth
I can add LeafsTV SD/HD for $4.00/mth

To add TSN I need to add the whole SD sportspack for $10, then add another $2.50 for the HD version.

So I look it at as LeafsTV for 4.00 is better than 12.50 for TSN.

you poor bastard.

Wait... doesn't the Sports pack INCLUDE LeafsTV and Sportsnet also?

I don't necessarily disagree, or agree with this statement. I worked in a trade during the summers while earning my university degree. While there were times when I thought I should have stuck with the trade, and formalized/completed my apprenticeship...I know now that I made the correct choice.

It depends on the degree/trade/location/job market/person. To many variables to say which route is best.

I will say that of the friends I had that went the trade route, they seemed to be further ahead early on. But now most of my University friends are doing quite well, and are likely further ahead now...but again this depends on the person/company/opportunities for advancement etc.

ok ok ok.. i should clarify my position here

someone like you, who most likely analysed the job markets before deciding on your university direction would do quite well.

what gets me 10 ways from sunday is a person goes and majors in english lit and then steps out of university expecting to land a job making 150K a year

yeah... librarians dont get paid that.. oh.. and you're surprised nobody cares enough about you to make you a legitimate critic.. yeah.. sorry bout your luck.. go find some menial job to pay off your student loan and likely end up doing that for a large portion of your life.

there are so many examples of that in university.. it should be illegal.. cause highschools and post secondary institutions practically pitch what they sell on the fact you will end up with your dream job... when the guidance coming out of highschool should be how to analyse the work force, find a gap or area that is understaffed and choose your direction accordingly.

the employment marketplace is more important than following your dream.. sometimes a student needs to recognize that their dream isnt going to buy their home, or feed them, etc.

that is my issue with post secondary institutions. whereas with a trade.. you will make a comfortable living and be able to do so without putting yourself severely into debt.

the employment rate for trades schooling is far far far higher than that as the general post secondary graduate.

same here.

I'm the bumhole who always female doges at the bar when they are just stretching SD on their seven 42 inch LCD TV's.

idiots.

Spend 10 grand on TVS (at the time) and don't even get HD. (frank)ing stupid.

No.

Leafs TV is not included in any package. But you can get a $1 discount if you already have the sports 1 pack.

Sportsnet is only included in the Sports 2 pack for $5.00, but does not include HD, which still cost the $2.50 I am already paying...(this is just stupid, as who the hell wants the SD channels anymore, and why pay more for them, just because they come with 4 other channels you will never watch in your life).

It's really confusing.

*Note this is based on the old Bell Theme packaging. This is no longer available to new customers. Their new packaging system sucks even more and costs more of course.

(bolded)

thing is, you go into a specific trade for a specific job and you are trained right into getting the job as you work co ops etc...where as in University you get a degree that opens the doors for many other things unless you want to teach/profess...not comparable on those levels imo. A Uni degree alone only shows you have the ability to learn and study or what have you, its those who do a little more and extend their knowledge frmo Uni that get the jobs...which most students cant seem to figure out

I don't regret university. I had an absolute blast and it does teach you to think and form your own opinions.

Even if it goes against the grain and ruffles some feathers.. As evident by the infamous 9/11 thread.

But as far as job prospects, trades is the clear winner.

Luckily my field has one of the lowest unemployment rates of any coming from university.
