Breakthrough players will be Centreman Brandon Saad, PP man Brian Bickell, and Spring goalie Raanta - wiz1901
What tells you Saad will have any success there?
Wait, Wiz, and let me get straight on this. You're saying Saad will be a C and Danault will be a W? |

Nobody can replace Frolik....wash your mouth out with soap for saying that.
Smith will do a fine job filling Frolik's role, but that's it.
- DarthKane
Dunno about that. Smith will have to get a lot quicker to be that effective on the forecheck. I mean, a lot.

I just looked for single game tickets on Ticketmaster. Nothing much of nothing there. |

There's always Dec 6th in Edm. Of course it's the wrong Oil and the wrong Hawks..
But still it's Oil vs Hawks. |

Would it also count as a break through if Kane finally puts up 100 points?
I mean, suppose nobody steps in to fill out the missing point totals, but our best point producer gets 20% better? I'm looking for this, weather it be called a break through or not. - DirkGraham
Totally agree and Kane gets my vote. Bickell on his line also increases the chances of the above occurring
Bickell could also havea breakout year and come close to scoring 40 |

You know that he's not in the system any longer, right? Let alone that he's passed through a couple of teams systems now, and currently not a part of any NHL organization. |

That may be but when she talks to her girlfriends she says "I thought I married Mr. Right" but her girlfriends remind her that is what he thinks his middle name is!!! - FourOrr

Middle name Right, last name Now? - NewToHockey
That would make his first name "Mister," wouldn't it? |

I've been beating the drum for over two years now, why stop something that thus far has proven futile?

Ben Smith - NewToHockey
I'd have to think Smith has a roster spot that is his to loose coming into camp. |

We've thought that before. Let's hope he is still healthy when the calendar turns to October, for a change. |

I tend to agree. I see Smith, Morin and Danault as the "sometimes" or "most of the time" replacements for Frolik, Stalberg and Bolland, respectively. But we will have to wait and see. |

Off the chart with Theo Peckham,
I think he will give the Hawks a good physical presence on D as long as he comes to camp in shape , something he has not done the last couple of years in Edmonton. - HawkfaninBC
If Peckham is seeing a lot of ice time in Chicago, things have gone horribly wrong. Edm needs D and they didn't want him. Depth move for Rockford and that's all it will be. I can't bear to watch the 2.0 version of John Scott. |

All I know is Nester was always afraid to drop em...
I almost broke my rule of contradicting myself....I also wanted to say Danault on my post above, but I tossed the Koolaid out before I drank.
To answer that earlier question,
I think Pirri ends up on that checking line if he can fit higher up, when Handzus rests....
Ben Smith also stays and plays here or is sent elsewhere.
and Morin and his choppy steps HAVE TO GET AN EXTENDED LOOK, or the boot.
I agree on his boots...to some extent.
If he keeps shifts short and continues to work away from the choppy steps, I think he wouldn't look slower in the third period.
It has much to do with skating style, and less about being able to get there, if he gets the hitch out, and it is something I hope he has been working to change...
I think Danault would have to be two cups sizes better than the Icehogs vets in training camp to get promoted that quickly.... - wiz1901
Nester would work em over in the corners though. I was more a fan of that swooping skating style of his. Also, he was a pretty good PK guy. |
