Bobby was the best, plain and simple. Injuries held him back, nothing else. If they had the same lengthy careers and fortunate health, this wouldnt even be a discussion.

I think Lidstrom is a bit overrated myself. Ray Bourque, Tim Horton, Doug Harvey, Denis Potvin, Larry Robinson were all just as good.

Its sad this even being debated. Lidstrom was a great player surrounded by great players. A perfect recipe to fool some people into thinking he was the best of all time. One of, but not the best. Bobby Orr holds that title.

Wonder how Orr would have been in this generation with todays knowledge, fitness, nourishment, equipment. I don't think we'd be saying "He's the next Lidstrom". Orr was blessed with physical toughness, talent, and a hockey head to match.

Just my opinion.

Bobby Orr is arguably the best player of all time, let alone the best Dman of all time. Shame about injuries. Same with Neely. Great career cut short...

Well to be fair, Hasek was 96 years old when he went to the Wings and Joseph was not as good as Manny Legace in Detroit
