That is true but last year was a pretty sad group with all the injuries.

I certainly do not like Clarkson's new salary but as a neutral here I would take him over Filppula anyday. Clarkson is physical, can fight, can score on the pp and in general brings a more complete game. In Filppula's defence he may have played all last year at less than 100% of being healthy. I believe he played with a swollen knee for most of the season, an injury that nobody really talked about. The year before he was a much better player so there is hope he will turn out good in TB.

I like Filppula more. Better PPG, better -/+, less penalties called against, responsible in all three zones, but to each his own.

And if you bothered to look back at other commenters about Clarkson, we disagreed, but I didn't go off on him. So yet again, You've. Got. Nothing.

David Clarkson:

People outside Tampa don't seem to understand filpulla isn't here to score point it's replace lecavalier . How come they have such a hard time seeing that we don't need any more offence ... Filpulla brings what we need ... Solidity in all three zones , plus I think he underachieved in Detroit and he is capable of better maybe amungst the likes of drouin Purcell at Louis stamkos he can excel. We new him for what he brings on every side of the puck not for points but that's just a bonus if he can produce

Stamkos has an underrated defensive game. Nate Thompson is a defensive force too. I'm not too concerned.
