It wasn't even homerish, it was something new and not improved.

This season could be magical and full of surprises. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Oilers have two players in the Top 10 in scoring, and their first playoff birth in seven years.

Ha ha! Half way through they are last in the west and have no players in the top 20 in scoring let alone the top 10. Still half a season to go though! Maybe!

Now that's good clean fun! COME BACK RICHIE!!!! COME BACK!!!

I miss the crippling case of hemorrhoids I had in the winter of 2001....

Do you really miss the writing, or just the chaos he caused on here ?

How have those big free agent signings worked out for the Wild? I thought for sure they would be elite after that, but I guess the sh!t end of the stick on a series of trades hasn't helped.

Yeah, I hear that. At least with the trolls we had some not bad battles....now I find the biggest tards to contend with are Oilers fans who think we were one magical trade away from the promised land, or that Kruger would have won the Adams this year if he wasn't fired....I think I prefer battling with Canucks and Leafs fans.

Relax buddy, I wasn't trying to slight your favorite team. Just pointing out how even in his finality and after confessing he did it all in order to amass hits and insight chaos, Clouts was still a card carrying homer of Oiler fandom.

As far as the Wild? Well, I guess I can't say they are where I'd like them to be, but any way you slice it, be it a succession of first round draft picks, trades or block buster FA signings, the Wild are still a lot closer to being a playoff team than the Oil. Not sure which trades in recent memory the Wild got the "sh!t end of the stick? on either... If you're referring to the Heatley trade, it's merely the lesser of 2 evils between he and Martin Havlat... Although I will admit the Burns for Setoguchi trade turned out to be a bit of a stinker, though they did get Coyle and something called Zack Phillips in that deal as well, so it wasn't all bad.

Yep, those were the 2 trades I was referring to! Honestly, I was expecting the Wild to be way better. I always thought they were a close team that needed a jolt, and I thought they got it with those players as well.

And being closer to a playoff spot then the Oilers is nothing to be cocky about, considering that Calgary, Florida and Nashville are as well.

Ah, touche'! I look at both our teams in complete befuddlement as to why niether is better. Sometimes this poop is a complete mystery. I think both teams have a little bit of coaching and little bit of management issues that constantly drag their respective programs down.

I'm guessing Yeo is going to be gone before or by the end of this season and from what I've read on some of the Oil blogs, Eakins is on the hot seat as well.

Well here's to hoping that both of our respective teams get out of the gutter at some point sooner than later!

Cheers!

I wouldn't be surprised if he and maybe even Perron end up in at least the top 20.

Anybody else think it's funny that puckrant doesn't even have a Flyers blogger?

You know it's a good Cloutier thread when you have Leaf fan Refs (pa)trolling it 6 months later.
