By this logic Tyler Bozak should be on Team Canada instead of Tavares.
- 1979AD

Right thats what I meant, or I meant Canada with its forward depth can have a sniper like Tavares or Perry having to play on the 3rd line in a shut down role vs that States who can have guys like Callahan, Brown, Backes, who can play the type of role with their style of play and let the snipers like Kane, Parise, Ryan, Kessel play the top 6 offensive roles.

Canada is stacked with forwards and D. Quick would have to perform at his 2012 playoff level the entire way for the US to have a legit shot at the gold. Luongo and Crawford should be more than adequate for Canada to take the gold.

We should look at the Czech, Finn & Swede teams before annointing the US with the silver ...

Putting all stars in lesser roles seemed to work out OK in 2010.

Canada's the favourite, but USA could beat us in a single game.
Which would make me do this ---->

Are you saying this is a bad thing or a good thing? I think I'd be happier with Tavares and Perry on my third line.

The US have 4 stronger options than Luongo and Crawford.

You could even argue that Gibson is a better goaltender.

Canada hasn't developped a great goaltender since Brodeur. Until they address that, they aren't likely to do anything in International tournaments.

- Pierre.McGuire

No, you said that they cannot play on Olympic Size Ice.... I retorted saying Lou did.... that was a trap.

You should have said "Lou played in Vancouver on NHL size ice". Any moron knows that.

But to say that Quick would be better in the larger ice just 'because' is equally moronic.

But I got to say, it is nice proving PM wrong, even if it is a fake one.

Please keep this link somewhere on your PC. Remember me when Canada is eliminated in the quarter finals.

You're probably too young to remember Turin.

Four years ago at this time I'd agree, but ... that team is getting very old.

Kessel is probably the best raw scorer of that bunch. But his biggest flaw is that he needs to sneek under the radar. If hes up against Crosby or Toews i wouldn't put my money on him or any other small American forwards.

That is asking way too much. Maybe in December against a bottom feeder but at this level no one gets under the radar.

Im sayign thats why I think the States played so well in 2010, they came together really quickly and almost won the gold away from Canada.

They will always be tough team to play against when it comes down to crunch time. They were built like a vetern playoff team in 2010.

The only thing that scares me about the Canadian team is that our gosltending sucks. Average at best. Not a good thing in a tournament like the olympics.

Average at best!? The starting goalie will likely be the same one that backstopped the team to gold in 2010. This same goalie is often cited by Canucks fans as one of the top 3 goalies in their organization who were also top 5 in the entire league.
