if talent works, Canada hands down. it should be the gold medal game as Russia is not a threat any longer, the khl is a terrible league and it showed last Olympics. I was at the game, got to see first hand pro players vs pansys and minor league players

Which non-NHL leagues are better than this "terrible league"?

They played like little girls. Russia's 1st and 2nd lines are great, but the D is terrible. Goaltending may be good, depending on Bob's ability to play at a Vezina level.

it's gonna be Canada....Russia even though they look like they may have some weak spots, you can never count out the host nation with that level of talent

Its Canada's tournament to lose.

Group A
Russia/Slovakia/United States/Slovenia
Group B
Canada/Finland/Norway/Austria
Group C
Sweden/Czech/Switzerland/Latvia

After round robin, teams are ranked 1-12 and top 4 get buys to the semis.
Group A &C can lead to some upsets and some crazy quaterfinal matchups.
Can easily see a team like United States vs Sweden in the quaters.

I'm confused, is the KHL not the second best pro league in the world whether it pretends to be equal to the NHL or not?

Canada wins gold and I think rather easily. In Vancouver, they were under the most pressure out of any team. Although it was close, they pulled out the win and I think that has boosted their confidence to an all-time high. Furthermore, they have new additions to the team (aka Stamkos etc.) that will make them younger and faster. Sidney with Stamkos is ridiculous!! USA should take silver and I think Russia will be hard pressed to make the semis...

the US will generally never have the talent to beat Canada on paper.

it'll take some fortunate bounces, gritty play (harder to do on the larger ice), and decisively winning the goalie duel for the US to win gold.
