Can't wait for the Flyers to release the good news summer item that Pronger will be ready for camp. That edict will be forthcoming tomorrow.

We're having a family beer pong tourney this week. If I can still see by next Sunday, then it'll be proof that booze doesn;t make you go blind

Giroux's club shattered, cutting his finger, and then flew to Philadelphia and hit Pronger in the head, miraculously curing him of his post-concussion symptoms.

I believe that Pronger's real issue is his vision. I don't think he can see well enough to play hockey anymore. A concussion can cause vision to be impaired, but the stick to his eye is what ended his career. There wasn't any glaring head contact that I saw in the last game he played in Winnipeg.

I seem to recall a game against Phoenix where he came back after the eye injury and got checked funny into the boards. He went off the ice weird, if I remember correctly. He probably already had his head messed up, and that was the final nail.

Apparently his golf club broke, and he got sliced by the shards...expected to be in a cast for 3 weeks.

that final check was what put it over the edge

ocular concussion + later hit/concussion?

You could be right. I'm sure you are. For some reason I was thinking the first game he played after the injury was in Winnipeg.

I know you're joking.

And by the way. Don't be a Richardwad.

According to Homer "I don't believe he'll ever play again." Likes having him work with them on what he has been doing. Would like to have him doing more but he "has spells" when he cannot do anything for the team. So he's clearly still having serious PCS.

I figured a recovery from PCS was more likely than a golf club shattering in a guys hand. But what do I know. It seems as if it happens on the PGA tour every weekend.

Giroux's injury is why you can never, ever, ever have enough offensively gifted centers.

Five-six weeks isn't devastating, if he can maintain his cardiovascular regimen to a degree. Hope he'll be OK soon.

He'll miss just over a week of camp, I'll take that over missing regular season games.

Agreed -- but just like Eric Lindros in Nashville bathtub with a ruptured spleen, I can honestly say this injury is the first I've heard of its kind.

Just have to shake my head, sometimes.
