Why would I do this when I think you couldn't be more wrong? I think Schenn is likely to be extended this summer at a reasonable price and will state regardless of what he does. In fact I think it would be mindlessly stupid to trade Schenn if he doesn't have a breakout season.
- dingo8urbaby

Im just saying Holmgren has a tendency to pull the trigger on big deals and if Schenn under performs then he could be the one packaged in a deal for a defenseman. Its a very realistic possibility even today.

Wouldn't that be good for the player and the team that picks him up not to mention the NHL?

Say Edmonton is way under the cap. They sign him to a two way contract for league minimum as their 51st contract. He gets a little bump in pay, the chance to make an NHL roster and the Oilers get another option at the minor league level.

The salary cap is still intact. What's the down side for anyone?

- mayorofangrytown

I think the downside is that the richer teams would just sign every prospect they could get their hands on, to up their odds. And the poorer teams wouldn't be able to match that. It would be just another advantage for some teams over others.
I'm not sure about the history of the 50 contract limit. It might have been around before the Cap was instituted.

they used to be amazing, and then budweiser bought them

i still see the pepe nero now and then, if you see that one from them grab it,
it's still small batch deliciousness instead of the mass produced honker ale that they're selling everywhere now

- -davies-

Ill keep an eye out. The Jacques Pere is unreal.
Funny story. Around New Years, I went to pick up a few cases for a party i had. I couldnt remember the batch of Goose I was drinking on tap not long before, so I grab the first case I see. While in line, I grabbed a case of Corona Lt( ) as well. When they rang me up, the cleck tells me it will be 115. I said I only got a case of each.....The Goose was 75 hahaha. I had No clue, but it was worth it.

Im saying he needs to show improvement or I think he gets traded in a package for a defenseman.
- GOA88

B Schenn could have a great year, and it's still a possibility he could be traded in the right deal.

Even if the team sends him down, they're still on the hook for whatever he's scheduled to earn playing in the minors, even if it doesn't count against the cap. He also counts against the player share of the HRR split, since two-way deals are counted as NHL direct costs, while NHL teams' share of their affiliate's revenues are oddly not included in hockey related revenue.

My brother in law works for Boston Brewing Co. Whatta sweet job. He routinely meets with Koch and co. going over new stuff. His beer is the Travelers beer. All Shandy stuff. Coming out with a Pumpkin Shandy for the fall if you are into that kinda stuff!

They are in direct competition with Leinenkugel. I am not a fan of Shandys typically.. but they have a ginger one that is pretty damn good.

The Flyers have plenty of assets to make moves to fill holes regardless of how any player performs. Schenn is 21 and has the upside to be a front line player. A player I wouldn't want playing against us in future seasons just because he sucked his third season in the NHL. I would say Carter and Richards under performed their last season with the Flyers but only to their standards, not because they had a bad season each. They both certain have had worse. The point is unless Homer is offered a deal that blows him away, it would be silly to move Schenn for the reasons you've displayed.

I think you're right, but Holmgren has shown in the past to lose patience with a player, and move him for a need. Like he did with JVR. But I don't think B Schenn is anywhere near that point.
