You might want to send your resume to Josh Harris. He could probably use a new financial adviser.
Also, the Habs have some debt. Should we move them too? - rmdevil313

Why? Devils have debt. You suggest the team should be moved. Habs have debt, why shouldn't they be moved? |

And its not about having debt, its about making money. ever look at forbes website? it shows how much each owner makes every year, devils are always in the red. I just don't want to hear any female doging about money from the new owner 5-10 years from now. I know Mr. moulson ain't complaining about money! |

Forbes releases estimates. Their estimates say that the Devils were 2.8 in the black in 2012. In 2009 it was 1.4. 6.9 million in 2010. Do you have any idea about why the Devils are in debt, or do you just assume the only way to accumulate debt is to be in the red? |

if your confident the team can make money by all means think that way. just seems when I watch games the rink always half full. ya I know you might say well we sold so and so tix, but letting people buy tix for $5 is not generating revenue. or doing one of those $59 groupons where you get 4 tix, 4 hotdogs and 4 pops. You guys need passionate fans that will actually go to the games and force a premium on tix. but its not there, cuz no one cares, hockey is not New Jersey |

So if you buy the devils at a fairly low price, and pay off the debt, you are left with a premier arena that is very profitable, a hockey team that is profitable, and grow the overall value of the team. Why is that a bad investment? |

Because the people in NJ are to damn interested in fist pumping till they are forty then hockey cant you keep up To be honest I dont see NJ as a place being big on Basketball Baseball or NFL to me it seems more like a Hockey city then any other sport but I dont live there so thats just how I perceive it |

If I am confident? The source you brought up said that we were profitable.
Your source also calculated gate receipts and here's where the devils are in comparison to other teams in the league:
Pittsburgh-51 million
Ottawa-50 Million
Detroit-49 million
New Jersey-47 Million
Los Angeles-46 Million
Minnesota-41 Million
I also love the "hockey is not New Jersey" line. Nothing says growing the game like only putting teams where the game is already popular. Great way to expand your brand. |

No one cared about the Nets until they moved to brooklyn. Basketball has struck me as bit of a fairweather sport. It seems more people want to watch Kobe or Lebron than watch 82 games of the knicks. Football is popular in basically any American city. But its a 16 game, 17 week season. The yankees are widely popular and the mets are fairly popular. New York is not a college sports town by any means. There is plenty of room for hockey and for the sport to grow in a metro area of 20 million people. |

I think I'd like baseball a lot more if there weren't 162 games. Loved playing it as a kid but the season is way too long for me to take a serious interest in a team. Its a fun time to go see a live game though. |

Obviously the Devils won't move. Wish I lived near there, buy tickets at the door for $10, you fellas are lucky. I have a lot of respect for the devils. And I get americans are huge on the bandwagon, they love watching winning teams, way it should be, you shouldn't be allowed to make money if you don't put a decent product on the ice...the leafs would be bankrupt if that was the rule. But in the end it's a bad business decision to buy that franchise. - kovey27

Does NJ have a Lacross team ? I know lacross isnt that big but its a sport similar to hockey and if they had a team it might help with converting fans to hockey its an idea right ? |

I know the sport itself is very popular in NJ, but as far as I know the league itself is about as popular as the ECHL. |

That can't be true can it? I'd figure a place like California has about 10x the population and potential markets would have more. I would believe most teams per capita or something. |

I really should go see an OHL game one of these days. I've lived in Mississauga on and off for years, and I work in Brampton now. |
