Top 50 Players - The annual feature in THN's Yearbook.
Subban is ranked 23rd, and the 6th ranked defenseman. He's behind Karlsson, Doughty, Keith, Chara & Suter.
Price is ranked 48th, and the 7th ranked goaltender. He's behind Quick, Lundqvist, Rask, Bobrovsky, Anderson, & Crawford.
Top 5 for those wondering:
1. Sidney Crosby
2. Alex Ovechkin
3. Steven Stamkos
4. Erik Karlsson
5. John Tavares
Our top 10 prospects:
1. Nathan Beaulieu
2. Michael McCarron
3. Jacob De La Rose
4. Zachary Fucale
5. Jarred Tinordi
6. Sebastian Collberg
7. Charles Hudon
8. Michael Bournival
9. Christian Thomas
10. Artturi Lehkonen
There's also an article on Alex Galchenyuk. - BingoLady
I think the fact they put Tinordi, who is the closest to the NHL and captain of the AHL team, at #5 is enough reason to say THN are full of crap when it comes to prospects. McCarron is #2 only because they just drafted him; same with JDLR, he's ranked higher than Collberg because he was drafted this year and Collberg last.
They always do that. Leblanc was #1 his draft year, then Tinordi, then Beaulieu...
Dumont is not on the list, nor is Pateryn. Yet players who don't have an entry level deal are ranked on this list and they're not? BS.
An accurate list should read:
1. Tinordi
2. Beaulieu
3. Dumont
4. Leblanc
5. Pateryn
Top five.
They've each had a few games in the NHL and are still considered prospects. Only five prospects to crack the lineup.
I'll believe Lehkonen is a better prospect than Dietz when he signs his entry level deal. |

Has to do with potential, not how close they are. Leblanc will be a 3rd line center. Fucale will be a starter. Who is the better prospect? Same for Tinordi (#4D) or Beaulieu (#2) |

Say a nasty crash this morning. One of the cars hit the Starbucks at the corner missing a woman standing with her bike by literally 2 feet. Needless to say she looked like a deer in headlights.

I responded to a call a month ago where a old lady blasted her car through the back of her garage, through her backyard, through 3 fences and backyards, and into the back of a house. Missed a 2 and a 4 year old who were playing by 5 feet and (according to their parents) were playing in the spot she drove through about 5 seconds earlier. Needless to say I recommended her license be suspended pending a review and test. Hate to do that to good ppl but she could have killed a few ppl. |

Best prospects list in my opinion would be comprised of players with the highest ceiling (potential), not those who are closest right now, or already played games in the NHL.
Don't have anything against Pateryn, but I don't see him as one of the Habs top 5 prospects. |

Mix of both, imo. Potential is good, but it might never be reached. |
