Its gonna be so sweet when the Flyers prove everyone wrong, everyone outside of Philly is just hoping and praying the flyers fail, they always do. That 48 game season was a fluke for a lot of teams. Flyers will be back in the mix as always. |

I hope so. It's gonna be tougher with the new divisional format. I think that the only "sure" things (although injuries can change that) in the East are Pittsburgh, Boston, and NYR. I think both Ottawa and (ugh!) Toronto could outplay Detroit, and they could miss altogether...or Detroit could challenge Boston. But outside of those 3, I don't think any team's a lock. |

No worries, everyone has it just as tough. Flyers are a good team. Dont get so down on a injury plagued 48 game season. |

Unsure everyone is praying for that. As noted, like Emery and thought it was good signing, but have to admit hhe has to be question mark moving to Philly from Chicago, given the team in front of him there. If Schenn continues his growth and the rest of the D is solid, the offense should score enough, especially if Hartnell rebouds. Tough division and think all teams will have a battle on their hands to make the post-season. |

I'm not down, I just refuse to count my chickens before they pummel Crosby, I mean, hatch. |

I'm not sold on Detroit, but I think Ottawa is really gonna surprise people. - jmatchett383
Ottawa is my pick to make the Stanley Cup final. It is amazing what the team did last year with all the injuries they had, and despite giving up a real good player in Silverberg, I think they made a real good deal for Bobby Ryan. It would definetely be ironic if they made a run after Alfie leaving for supposedly greener pastures. |

Pretty much. They may be the biggest question mark in the league. They could just as easily challenge Pittsburgh as finish 7th. |

They are absolutely loaded at forward, and I think the shortened 48 games season was a bit of anomaly for the Flyers. I do wonder whether they will ever trade one of their excellent young forwards for some blueline help.

You have to admit that Philly is the most hated team in the league. People love to hate on us. Just like flyers fans love to hate Crosby |

Again, not trolling here but i don't see the Rangers as a sure thing either. Too many variables and an unsigned Lundquvist can be well, you know... Don't get me wrong we are far from a sure thing too but I just don't get some people's confidence in some teams? New coach which can be good or bad? Richards may or may not show up? Nash may play good? I see Pitts as a lock to make the PO's(but I don't see them doing anything in the PO's with their goaltending) as far as every other team in our division I think it's a toss up. Who knows? Under AV we may see an excellent Rangers team but there is also that other variable too. |

They probably are, but I doubt that Rangers fans huddle in dark bars and spend hours complaining about the Flyers on a daily basis. Weekly, maybe. |

No I certainly don't. I'd say the Penguins are by non Pen fans of course. The Leafs, Bruins? |

I keep thinking they will, Holmgren has been strangely quiet of late. I think he has been trying to work a deal for some time. He is desperate to replace Pronger, wont happen but they can at least try to get someone remotely close to Pronger status |

I think that every team in that division, with the possible exception of the Devils, has a legit shot of making the playoffs. Indeed, with the parity in the modern day NHL, just making the playoffs is an achievement, especially when you consider how many good teams missed last year.

That's true, but I think any team with Hank in net is pretty much a sure thing. I think Nash will be even better, the D may take a short step back, but that Columbus trade will pay off big, I think, as he was just not getting it done. |

Well then who is it? Cause its certainly not any team out west and its definitely not the Islanders. They have been practically invisible to everyone for a decade |

The Devils have that damn thing they do every year we all expect them to shat the bed. They win unfortunately. This year may be pushing it though? I never fully count them out. |

Truthfully, I like the Penguins as a team, always have. However, I hate this collection of players.
It's the exact opposite of the 93/94 Rangers. I'm not a Rangers fan, in fact I don't like them. But I love that 93/94 team.
Also, I'm not a Rangers fan, but I hope you guys don't mind me just talking hockey (civilly, open-mindedly) with you. |

Scratch the leafs and Bruins, Pitt or Philly for sure. Everyone bashes the flyers on this site. People hate the Pens cause of Crybaby and Malkin, cheap shots and whiners. |
