Are they saying another surgery is necessary or is it that he hurt the same wrist he had surgery on?

Edit: Just looked it up; it's actually a finger and not the wrist as first believed. He should be back by the start of the season.

Ok this is totally random, but I figured you guys would have some good ideas..

I manage a deli and the owner asked me to come up with a good hockey related name for a sandwich. Would have to be widely known to a casual observer, as well as have so real meaning.

My first thoughts were "the great one," obviously for Gretzky, "the messiah," for Mess, which may have religious complications,
"The Russian rocket," for Bure or "the golden jet," for Bobby Hull.

Any ideas would be helpful.

Jumbo Joe for Joe Thornton, but idk if a casual fan would know that.

Nice!! I would say that the particular toppings of the sandwich could have a bearing on the name. The toppings or ingredients should make sense within the confines of the name. If you named it after Mess for example you wouldn't want it to be as simple as a cheese sandwich on white bread. That's lame.

I think the grease trucks at Rutgers already have multiple sandwiches based on Brodeur including the "Fatso"

Water is wet, sky is blue, lather, rinse, repeat. Same things we have heard to date, only mild tweak is that Lundqvist said he would have to decide if he allows talks to continue during the season. I see no reason why not, especially since he said that he won't be involved in the process until the end of negotiations, so it shouldn't impact his play during the year.

Hmmm we hope not, but if he gets off to a slow start, and he has no contract? The wild card here is Slats, we don't know where his head is at with Hank. We like to think he's just conducting business as usual, but I wonder. It's not really all that easy a contract to do. Hank will be 31 this year, and if we project a 6-7 year deal, Yikes, he'll be 38. I'm not saying he doesn't deserve a nice payday, but one has to wonder just how long a deal we're looking at.

without a solid prospect, i think we need to keep him here for 5-6 years more at least. and that's assuming we get one in next year's draft or the one after since they usually take 4-5 years to develop.

will try and get a blog up tonight. Had every intention of doing so last night, but left my ipad in cab I took from office in Boston to the amtrak station, so was busy trying to recover it and mentally was kind of shot. Plan B is to try and write it on iphone and post it.

McDonagh needs to learn how to finish, especially now that he is making the big bucks.

He flashes the skill, as he apparently did today at the skating session, but yes, he needs to do that more and I think that will come with increased confidence in his offensive game and a head coach who pushes him to reach that level of his game. Could that be AV? Possibly so if he recognizes that untapped ability in McD. He does let his skill guys make plays if the play is there to make. I'll be curious to see if he shows off more of his skill this season.
