Yeah, this site is getting ripped a new one on Twitter right now because of the garbage that gets posted on here by bloggers.
While I come to this site more to discuss hockey with other like-minded hockey fans than come in here looking for "the news", it would be nice if the bloggers exhibited some more professionalism and did some fact checking before they express their opinions on here. - Chest Rockwell

Couldn't agree more. It reeks of unprofessionalism and a desperation for site/blog hits when these so-called "writers" post the dreck that they do.
Yet, here we are. Keep coming back for more.

I think what really helped ROR was the time he spent in the WHL. |

I think it was more his seasoning in the KHL when he played on a line with Gretzky. |

Have a couple of writers here that appeal to the lowest common denominator almost exclusively and post blogs on a near spamming rate because they've found it's successful. 'Tis what gets the hits and draws the ad revenue, so it's not going to stop anytime soon, and it repels other serious writers who may want to post here, but don't want their work being seen next to that kind of fodder.
I've been noticing a decline for a while now--there've been teams without writers for long periods of time w/ no effort to even put up content, and as the focus shifts towards a few select blogs and teams, the entire site becomes destabilized and boring. Ever notice we all seem to have the same arguments amongst the same teams/players/people over and over and over again? It's because we don't get the perspective of probably 75% of other fans--they don't come here, there's no content for them... |

My favourite part is explaining what HE would do if he were Darcy Regier.
Uh, I am gonna go out on a limb and think that *maybe* Darcy Regier already thought of that; just a hunch. |

I don't care how many hits this guy gets. Garth is the worst blogger on this site.
How long till this blog gets updated with a story about another teams player... |

the content from the bloggers brought me to this site
since then, the content has taken a nosedive
the fans bring me back now
there are a few descent bloggers still out there on the site though, including a few newer ones, but a far cry from what it was |

Joe Sacco was fired from the head coaching position. He's now Ron Rolston's right hand man on the Buffalo bench. Sacco coached O'Reilly with the Lake Erie Monsters before the two matriculated to the NHL stage in Denver.
It's the lack of simple research with bloggers these days that really gets on my nerves. O'Reilly has never suited up for the Lake Erie Monsters. In fact, when Sacco was coaching the Lake Erie Monsters, O'Reilly was still undrafted in his draft year playing for the ERIE OTTERS. It's simple research, and refraining from checking these simple facts are exactly the way you lose credibility. - AarifDeen

This exactly why I don't post here much and barely even read most of the blogs anymore.
Since Aaron left, I've went from posting daily and even joining in on some blogger round tables, to barely even lurking anymore.
The one thing about Hockeybuzz was that beyond Eklunds rumors, there usually was some amount of good writing around the site that would cover things that major media outlets would miss. That's the value in blogging, you can be more detailed because you don't have a short deadline to meet. If you need an extra couple of hours to collect data and research you can do it.
Which also makes the type of stuff Garth posts even worse. There really is no excuse, and it becomes blatantly obvious that the readers are nothing more than a number added to the hit counter.
Hockeybuzz actually gained a little more credibility through the lockout with Eklunds reporting. But a month or two later, and the site is actually worse than it was before the lockout. They've pissed it away with blah like this.
I still read Yost's stuff a lot, but even hes been on this creepy obsession run with his Melnyk money blogs.
And some bloggers wonder why main stream media won't take them seriously. Zero accountability for pure crap. Eklund should be the one holding his bloggers accountable, but he does not even make an effort to off-set guys like Garth by finding a decent replacement for guys like Aaron when they leave. |

he still got to "blog" here for years
that sums up the direction of this site |

First of all, there is not one good reason why ROR will be the odd man out over Stastny.
Second, 29 teams have all contacted Colorado about ROR, more than once. They have all been told he is not on the trade block. One day that may change, but kicking the tires now would be redundant and pointless. - Aetherial
You think Pittsburgh contacted ANYONE about a 3rd line C? ROR may not be a 3rd line center on EVERY team, but he sure as hell would be if he were on Pitts...same with Canucks currently...Some teams are stacked at C |

if the GMs of both of those teams don't at least ask about price then they aren't doing their jobs properly. |
