I regret not getting a Jagr one.
- bodiva88

I almost grabbed a Jagr home jersey on clearance a couple weeks ago. I regret not pulling the trigger.

Some random questions for a slow day. Pick which you liked more, and why

- Better fight game: the 2004 Ottawa Brawl or the 2012 Game 3 shenanigans?

- Better 1st round 7-game Series: 2008 (Washington) or 2011 (Buffalo)?

- Your team has these centers 4 centers. Rank them from 1st line to 4th line, explaining why you think each one fits there:
a. Mike Richards
b. Eric Lindros
c. Claude Giroux
d. Jeff Carter

- All things being equal, would you rather have:
a. an elite goal scorer (Stamkos)
b. an all-round player (Datsyuk)
c. an elite defenseman (Weber)
d. an elite goalie (Lundqvist)

My mom had an old Be A Player card of him doing pushups (they didn't have an NHL license, so the cards couldn't have them in games). Only hockey card she ever liked.

- Better fight game: the 2004 Ottawa Brawl or the 2012 Game 3 shenanigans? Liked the 2004 fights better. The game 3 was an outrage more then enjoyable. Like they were trying to punish us because we didn't lay down for the mighty Penguins.

- Better 1st round 7-game Series: 2008 (Washington) or 2011 (Buffalo)?
No Brainer. They were terrible in the Buffalo series.

- Your team has these centers 4 centers. Rank them from 1st line to 4th line, explaining why you think each one fits there:
a. Mike Richards 4th. Best defender and hardest hitter, other then lindros.
b. Eric Lindros 1st. DUH.
c. Claude Giroux 2nd, because I want someone that can create offense for his wingers over someone that scores on his own.
d. Jeff Carter 3rd. Carter is more of a Solo player then Giroux is. Carter is a goal scorer, but Giroux scores goals and makes players around him better.

- All things being equal, would you rather have:
a. an elite goal scorer (Stamkos)
b. an all-round player (Datsyuk)
c. an elite defenseman (Weber)
d. an elite goalie (Lundqvist) After seeing the Flyers list of goalies in 2000, I think I would like a era when goaltending is not an issue to worry about.

It was on her dresser. Sadly, no pictures of my dad or me were on the dresser.

I work out 6 days a week with a lot of cardio and core training. Also I really cut down on the carbs, fried food and I try not to eat after 7pm. It was really hard at first, but as you get into it and start dropping pounds and inches, it gets easier.

Question 1
The 2004 brawl, although can take a backseat to at least a dozen or more
games I went to in the 70s and early 80s

#2
2008 against Washington. However my all time favorite 7th game would be 1974 versus the Rangers

#3
1st Line: Lindros - simply the best of the 4.
2nd Line: Giroux - world class skill, the perfect #2 center to complement Lindros
3rd Line: Richards - he's my shutdown center on this team
4th Line: Carter - kind of a waste as a 4th liner. I would probably move Giroux to Lindros' right wing and make Carter my 2nd line center. With a 1,2,3 of Lindros, Carter, Richards, pretty much anyone could center the 4th line!

#4
An elite defenseman. Only because they seem to be the hardest thing to acquire.

I suppose it can be, but I'm pushing 50 and it really beats dropping dead of a heart attack before I reach 60.

I was in shock. It was such a harmless play... it was like Leighton wasn't even paying attention...

Dude probably woulda been a better goalie for us if he took some Adderall or something. His side to side movements were boarder-line pathetic and we almost won a cup with him. It will always boggle my mind that we got that close with him.

- Flyersgod

failed clear by powe (what a shock) and kimo got beat to the outside pretty badly. i think he surprised leighton with the shot - he thought he might continue skating and go below the goal line or make a pass to the slot, but not shoot. either way, it sucks. it will always suck.

i've said many times, leighton was excellent for them in the playoffs until the finals and then the whole team was subpar, despite scoring plenty of goals ourselves. i don't put losing the Cup on him, and when you consider they got into the playoffs via a Shootout win vs. Lundqvist in the final game of the year and came back from being down 0-3 to the bruins, it's hard to be THAT upset. the whole scenario was ridiculous.

Good lineup Bill, however my money would be on my 80s team if the 2 could ever meet:

GOAL
1. Pelle Lindbergh
2. Ron Hextall

D Pairings
Howe-McCrimmon
Wells-Samuelsson
Marsh-Murphy

Forward Lines
Propp-Poulin-Kerr
Barber-Clarke-Tocchet
Craven-Sutter-Sinisalo
Eklund-Linseman-Holmgren

Either way it sure be a fun game to watch!

without carle, they don't even make the playoffs. he scored the game tying goal against CSP in the final game that got them to the shootout.

Yeah, that whole "having a heart attack" thing can really put a damper on things....

Great news on dropping the weight! I've yo-yo'd plenty, weight wise, and I know how hard it is.
