Simon Gagne expects the Flyers

On August 7, 2013 at 9:19 p.m. | QMI Agency / Mario Morissette

Unrestricted free agent, Simon Gagne did not seem too worried about his future career about six weeks before the start of training camps in the National Hockey League.
Won candidly admits: he sees himself continuing his career with the Philadelphia Flyers during the 2013-2014 season.

Stolarz played the full game vs Finland today 75 mins, USA won 4-3 in a shootout.

Stollie stoped 34 of 37 shots, and one of the goals allowed was deflected of one of his own defender's skate. He stopped 6 of the 7 shootout attempts

Hate to beat a dead horse, but I'd love having him on the 3rd line. Make one of the strongest top 9s in the league even stronger

I concur. That would be a solid 2-way 3rd line-- Gagne, Couturier, Read (supposing L1 stays Hartsy, G, and Perogi, and L2 goes Schenn, Vinny, and Simmonds).

Hope the report is true. I still think Gagne has some game in the tank.

For me it was the trade of the Round Mound of Rebound. Barkley was my favorite player as a kid.

Then I came back into the fold with Iverson.

Not sure an 0-82 dive to the bottom will reignite my 76ers spirit.

It's sad days when the only thing good about the 76ers is a song that came out before I was born...

He was awesome last year, and I love him (I was in the first wave of Bob lovers, buying clothes with his name before a lot of fans even knew who he was), but I don't think he would've done that well if he was playing here last year.

"He just got back from his native Kladno, Czech Republic, where he was living with his mother and, apparently, living quite well.

The 23-year-old says he wanted to focus on hockey. She wanted to focus on trying to fatten him up from his 205 pounds.

Mom, Im leaving right now, stop cooking, Voracek told his mother last weekend when the lockout ended. Leave me alone ... I never played professional hockey and lived at home, so it was kind of an adjustment. It was different. I enjoyed it, but its great to be back."

I forget who said it, but in the lockerroom interview, one of the players who was lightly razzing Jake said he was eating a lot of perogies that his mother cooked--and came into camp a bit overweight--which may be why he started the season on the 3rd line.

Beat it to death. Gagne would be a perfect signing. Assuming he can stay healthy, he is the perfect compliment to Couturier and Read. He's better then anything we have in the system.

Laviolette, please do not throw us a curve ball and just make the lines exactly what they should be on the depth chart (Which also means no Lecavalier on the wing). Also Hockey Gods, extra please do not throw us a curve ball by injuring any of our players during camp and preseason.

The line up should look like this and this only assuming Meszaros is out and Gagne is in.

Hartnell-Giroux-Voracek
Schenn-Lecavalier-Simmonds
Gagne-Couturier-Read
Rinaldo-Hall-Talbot

Timonen-Schenn
Streit-Coburn
Grossmann-Gustafsson

Mason/Emery

I accept nothing else!!!!

In Gustafsson & Streit, it would pair weakest defensive player in the group with the undersized rookie?

Coburn's mix of size, speed and defensive ability is probably ideal to pair with Streit.

Laughton will force his way onto the roster, even if it means Hall sits.

I edited right when you replied to my post Jsaq!

For whatever reason, in my head I thought he had a third pair of Gusty and Streit.

I hope not. So many were saying when he was drafted that he was two or three seasons away from being ready. Ready or not, I would rather go all in with established NHL players.I want a freakin Cup!

I'm assuming Hartnell will wear a full time "A" but I would take it from him and give it to Lecavalier before the season ends.

Hall is a fourth line player. Laughton is expected to be more then that. On top of that, why add more to the cap then we have to?
