Way to go Garth, someone had to take a shot at that idiot andrew peters. Peters suggested he play wing today. Peters thought he played wing at the WJC last year. To quote Peters "You have a team of Mccormicks, you will have a great team". Enough said...
- Djtyczy

Andrew Peters is the sports version of a wing-nut (An outspoken, irrational person with deeply-held sports views).

Brian Duff has been great on Hockey Hotline the last 2 days (1 more to go). It took him about an hour and 40 minutes on radio yesterday to get Peters to propose next season's Sabres lineup. He wouldn't let him off the hook. I had this feeling that Duffer even asked Peters the day before to come to work with it written down.

Peters is a good conversationalist at times, but his intellect cannot keep up with Duff (and even Sylvester). At times he gets lost when the hosts are looking for him to respond or answer. Either that or he gets so distracted when they are talking that he is not paying attention (I really think he is texting during the show).

You need to add "Homer with too much emotion tied into the players and team he played with to have an honest opinion". He will never say a bad thing about anyone he has ties to. Hard to be objective with that going on.

Maybe if he used the money to take a writing class it might not be so bad. Clearly he isn't though.

I just don't really like Ennis on the wing. . .

Foligno-Grigorenko-Leino line I think would look good.

Ive been hoping for foligno-Grigorenko-Armia

Exactly i like Brian duff. But i can stand to here Peters say a team of mccormicks would be a great team and kaleta ellis mccormick would be a great 2nd line.

Garth, you're so grossly ignorant that it's beginning to annoy me. Grigorenko HAS PLAYED WING BEFORE. I'm not sure what the context was (and I'm not going to make a novel of a blog to act like I do), but he was switched to RW on several occasions in Quebec. It didn't make a difference in his play. I'm not convinced that he can handle the defensive responsibilities of playing center in the NHL right now, and moving him to the wing alleviates a lot of that responsibility. Not to mention, he'd get MUCH more playing time in the top 6 as a winger. Scorers like him BELONG on the wing. Yeah, players like Crosby/Stamkos/Malkin are scoring centers NOW, but they played wing very early in their careers until their defensive abilities were refined enough to be a full-time center. You may think it's not the right choice to put him on the wing, but to say it's the worst possible option? That's just lunacy.

Garth,
I will assume that you were drunk or in a fever dream when you posted your latest stab at hockey writing. The thing that no one really comments on about Grigorenko, that seems pretty obvious to me watching him last season, is that his skating is weak. He's not a bad skater, but there is a reason Yakupov was taken 1st overall....he has Explosive speed. Grigs' doesn't have speed and no amount of jockin' from you is gonna do that.
You mentioned D-first centers, 'Spezza, Malkin, Crosby, Datsyuk, Zetterberg'....Yeah o.k., Grigs' didn't play against the West last year so...cross at least two names off the "defense first centers" inane list. So, if you don't mind, quit jockin' the Sabres fans with your idiotic "true #1 Center" BS that is rampant thanks to the Buffalo News and Hockey Media.
"I dare say that if Ruff and Rolston had left the kid alone and played him with capable wingers like Ott and Leino", huh....., Ott and Leino were "natural Centers" if you recall or just did the most insignificant amount of research.
Its over man....you've betrayed yourself as an intolerable halfwit. As one of the previous posts so eloquently stated...Proofread. Kevin Freiheit is now the best Sabres Blog on this Si...ii..t...(garbled...garbled.....splat...SPLAT!!.. (choking on vomit)..dead eyes, face into the wall....into the wall...into the wa....CRUNCH!!!.
Happy Trails...

Wall of text for the win. You could have just said you would like a grig, leino, ott line and grig is a center not a winger.

P.s That line would blow. Leino sucks and would drag them both down.

Steve ott does not belong playing on the second line. That being said, i would like to see grigo playing with vanek. His vision and playmaking abilities are arguably better than hodgson...not to mention his defense isnt as bad.

Steve Ott needs 12-15 min a game. If he gets more he hurts your team. Grigo should IMO be out with responsible players that have some skill. Vanek is far from responsible. I would try Leino and maybe Flynn or Stafford. Let Hodgson and Vanek play the 1st line minutes

I know right? Grigs isn't talented enough to play with Leino.
