Seeing far is not an issue for me. Had Lasik done in '99 and it's been perfect.

I've heard only good things about that but I just can't imagine myself doing it.

hah I wish, I can't read at all without my glasses anymore, up until this year I could. I bit the bullet this year and ordered prescription sun glasses as well for driving. I used to have the transitions lenses but they don't work in the car which is mostly what I wanted them for. I discovered they could just give me the sun glasses with my distance prescription which made it a little cheaper at least.

Distance isn't a problem for me. Reading would likely be fine too if I had longer arms.

I actually had it done in MTL. Also, I didn't do it myself either. I had a doctor do it.

I don't think they can do the laser fix for reading though. Although I was told they could go in and replace the lens in your eye.
Just can't get my head around the idea of having my lens carved out and replaced.

I couldn't be conscious on while they'd work, so I can't get it done.

It's done in no time. Just block your nose while they fry your lens.

I totally freak out when anything gets too close to my eyes. My wife has a hell of a time putting eye drops in. I can't put them in myself not a chance in hell

which is why I haven't tried contacts

You get used to it....and after a while you can't stand them anymore and you go back to glasses.

When my allergies act up really bad I have antihistamine drops I put in, and I'm not saying I don't like the results, just can't stand having anything that close to my eyes.

Just start at the inner corner and I'd bet you can do it.
