Nope no chance its been all lake time up until now so the most I have done is shave shower and come here. Back to work tomorrow though. 5am. Its 20min to 2am gonna be a rough day I may not sleep might be for the best.

Rough. I've been there. Yeah, sometimes it's less painful staying up.

At least you got some good lake time in.

Was camping up at China Beach two weeks ago, and am off to Squamish Music Fest tomorrow.

Been a pretty awesome summer...just wish there was more hockey...

Nope. Cut the cable after the first round of the playoffs. Starting it up again in October.

What channel is it on?

Yeah, without actually watching the games myself it looks like they've been doing well.

I think a guy like Gaunce needs to impress with his play without the puck to solidify a spot, but the fact he's picking up some points playing in the dirty areas will definitely help his cause.

Gaunce has been really good defensevely. Especially on the pk. Last game both Horvat and Gaunce where pretty stellar in that regard. His points are just a bonus.

Does Gaunce play pretty physical? Does he look like he could physically handle the 3rd line center role in Vancouver this year as a tough checker who could throw in a few points?

Yeah, I noticed that Sweden only went 1/9 on the PP, which reflects well on both Gaunce and Horvat, who I believe were both getting considerable PP time.

I'm starting to like the idea of a Burrows/Kesler/Hansen 2nd line.

Would be a very difficult line to play against, and as long as Kesler stayed healthy, I could see it them providing some good offense, as well.

Maybe not one of the top 2nd lines in the league in terms of offense, but considering how good defensively it would be, I think it would still be very effective.

I could see them doing really well against other teams' top lines, and insulating the 3rd line for better offensive matchups.

I know Booth hasn't played great with Kesler to this point, but players coming over in trade often take a little while to adjust to new systems, linemates, etc. Just look at Garrison's first 1/3 of last season compared to the last 2/3 of the season. A great example at forward would also be Jeff Carter's first year in LA compared to last season.

Kesler was also injured the the last 1/3 of a season when they played together, so I'm willing to give them a mulligan and see what they can do together this year. I think adding Burrows to a line with Kesler and Booth could make it pretty dynamic, but I'd also be willing to change things up pretty quickly if I didn't see some chemistry forming pretty quickly.

I hate the idea of putting Higgins on the 2nd line with Kesler, so I'd be really interested to see what Hansen could do there with Kesler and Burrows. Talk about an awful line for opponents to play against. Speed, tenacity, and aggression across the board. They're all very good defensively and the transition would be FAST. Could see them racking up points against other teams' top lines.

A 3rd line with Booth and Higgins on the wings is a very good 3rd line too. If Gaunce (or Schroeder I guess...) could come in and play strong defensively and chip in some points, the lineup suddenly becomes very difficult to play against.

Lots of sites/organizations still consider them prospects until they've played a certain amount of NHL games. Really depends on where you look.

A couple of sites still have players with a full season + NHL games listed as prospects, and NHL.com is usually one of the slowest to update.

There's a few players on that list that make me question whether the writer is even qualified to rank Canucks prospects.

Although I think Corrado's got as good a chance as Weber to earn that final spot on D, I don't think he's quite a lock yet. My guess is it's his to lose in camp, though. So I'd say the prospect denomination is still fair...but hopefully he'll solidify himself as an NHLer this season.

I'd still rather have Higgins with Kesler, I just really like the idea of the third line to be a speed line and Hansen is faster than Higgins. Higgins also cycles the puck better than Hansen which is something that Kesler's lines tend to do more than Schroeder's. I'd also like to play Santorelli with Booth in camp scrimmages/pre-season to see if those actual have any chemistry since Santorelli and Booth both scored 20 together with the Panthers(with top 6 minutes and PP time though). If they do have some chemistry it could really open things up for Torts and let him roll 4 decent lines out there. My dream lineup(with the current roster anyways) doesn't include Weise or Sestito.

It would be great to ice 3 fast lines and a possesion line but I don't know if Kassian can play a good possesion game with the Sedins. It would be great to have Burrows speed with other speedy players but he works best with the twins, making their possesion game better. We'll see what camp brings, phuuk just start it NOW.

edit: if you want speed Weise will probably have to be in the lineup

He's good in the corners and can withstand an NHL body, but he's not gonna be going out there and running guys or anything. He plays a pretty poised and cerebral game. He's big enough for the NHL.

I can see how a Kesler Burrows Hansen sounds good on paper but Hansen does have cement hands. I know myself have suggested many times Hansen on the second line ,but after thinking long and hard he is a third liner.

I think something like this
Sedin Sedin Kassian.
Horvat Kesler Burrows
Booth Schroeder Higgins
? Richardson Hansen

I heard Botchford on the 1040 this morning and he had some interesting things to say about Lu.

He said he talked to him a few weeks ago and Lu is still sort of pissed. It is not a secret that Lu wants to play anywhere else but Vancouver.

Gillis said things were peachy between Lu and the Canucks but Botch "OK ,UM YEAH ,SURE" He also said the Canucks are still activivly trying to deal LU. Lu does realize there may be no other options but he does not want to be here at all.

That would be nice in a best case scenario. But I just don't see Horvat making the team.

Despite Hansen's cement hands and many missed opportunities, he was still top 15 for production at his position last season.

Plus, the fact that line would be so difficult to play against and would be so good defensively would probably benefit the Canucks overall goal differential.

It would also insulate the 3rd line, and give them better matchups.

Just trying to work with what they have...

If Kesler gets injured again it really doesn't matter too much who the wingers are, it'll be a mediocre 2nd line...

The media and fans are trying to portray Gillis as acting as though things are all "peachy" between Luongo and the organization, but I don't think he has at all.

You do realize that Botch needs something brewing, whether contversy or trades to get any attention
