So fcking sick of all the arm chair GM's on here. Who gives a fiddlers fck how our D is is. Lets play the games and hope we win a few. Short of that who fcking cares. In 2016 we can start to worry if needed. So in a nut shell shut the fck up!

Haha talking in code. At the end of the day gios stats don't tell the real story. I think he's great andhas uunderperformed because of a terrible terrible group from ownership to coaching.

My point was look at the habs 2 years ago and then last year with new coachs new personell new management group. The playerd responded well and played to their potentials. I think the same case can be made for the flames

- munky123

At the end of the day your point wasn't about Calgary at all..... your point was to redirect all the attention to Montreal. Attention attention attention.

I'm excited to see how Wotherspoon performs this season wherever he ends up. Also, reading articles on the US Jr team gets me hyped to view Sieloff.

It's the little things. Hope.

Feaster takes heat for the Janko pick and nobody talks about how we got Seiloff in that whole deal as well!

NM lost my cool.

As for your post i dont know why you bother coming on the thread if you don't like arm chair GM's? The whole article is an arm chair piece asking if posters agree.

This is some pretty sensationalized commentary. Bottom line is you have no clue what the bottom line is.
- IggyOnly

I don't think so. Tell me how many playoff teams would have Gio as a top d-man, let alone Wideman?

The "bottom line" was put in my post, becasue of the poster that used " bottom line" in his post that i was responding to.

I said bottom line Gio is not a PP guy....but there's nothing wrong with that. I also never said he was a #1 d-man either, all I said was that he is solid. Either way, you still admit he is more of a #3 guy, which is probably pretty fair. I would say he is a 2-3 guy myself.

Either way the Flames defence isn't as bad as you think it is IMO. Having Brodie, Wideman and Gio as the top 3 isn't that bad. And why the hell are you so hard on Wideman too? I thought he was solid back there last year. If you going to crap on the team, the defence is the last place you should look to do it.

I'm not crapping on the D, its just the reality that they are going to be playing way over their head next season. Brodie is young and will be used as a #3 no matter if he is ready or not. Out of what is left on D, i can't say that Butler, SOB, Smith, Russel or Cundari are a #4 d-man. That's going to hurt Brodie who needs to be playing with a solid 2nd pairing guy at is young age. The worst thing the flames could do is rush Brodie and ruin his confidence.

As for Wideman he is an offensive D-man that is below average on defensive play. He is suited for the #4 spot but will used as a #2 going against the top competition.

The flames collection of D-men has to be one of the worst going into next season. The bright spot is that htey have some good prospects that are a couple of years away. Granted they still don't have a #1 d-man prospect.

Actually not really... I lived in cowtown for almost 20 years... but what eves. Take my pint for what ever you want. I tend to try and look at the bright side of things. If it can work in mtl then I'm hoping it would work in cal. People have been saying whatvis happening incalgarybwas going to happen years ago. Managment and coaching staff stink and have for a while... (I think hartley will do well in calgary) but some media fans etc analize players by only taking in to acct theit play and not taking into acct working conditions and how that may affect them.

Playing teams that were mailing it in when they faced Calgary. I would not take a lot of stock of the play of the flames after the deadline. If we are doing that, then Hanowski would be on the team this year and i am not sure he will ever be a regular NHL player.

Don't get me wrong he is going to be good, but he is young and going to have many bad games next year. Its part of the learning process. The problem is that with a young player like him idealy you want him paired with someone that can hold their own, when Brodie has those "taking lumps" game. I feel bad that he is not only going to have to develop his own game, but he is more than likely going to have to cover guys like Butler, SOB ect mistakes.

yup, janko is icing on the cake now

Its nice to see how many flames are in the world jr's this year. Not many teams with that many players in it (last year I think they were top 3 as well)

We should have a quite a few! Always makes things more interesting!

Seiloff, Gillies, Monohan, Poirier, and the Janitor are all possibilities. Not sure who else?
