All proceeds to the sale of Shaw's used stitches are going to the Jimmy V Foundation for cancer research, if I'm not mistaken.

I saw this earlier today. I'm really getting tired of these teams getting bailed out by the league. If a city can't support a team then it's time to move on. I know each situation can be different and their could be legitimate circumstances that a team is struggled but with opportunities in Quebec City, Seattle and Toronto why would the league want to continue to support weak markets.

Is New Jersey that weak of a market?

I would figure it would be decent market, and it's just that they have crappy owners.

What is really disturbing is that is a newer building....From what I undertand the Devils have a favorable lease arrangement and they get other revenue because of it.....Otherwise they would be in a lot more red ink.

I don't know, but like I said their could be legitimate reasons a team struggles financially. I'm just now sure what that would be for New Jersey.

Its not a weak market.. its just a very fickle fan base & they moved the new arena to the WRONG part of NJ.
