I have to say, someone smarter than me will have to speak slowly when they explain to me how Kimmo Timonen and Kim Johnsson aren't 100 percenters in this voting.

I mean, I can understand just about anything explains to me about player preference/style. I might not agree with it, but I can understand it.

But I am baffled at how anyone, friend or foe, doesn't acknowledge that Kimmo Timonen is one of the five best Flyers defensemen in the 2000s. I don't even know how that is questioned by anyone, friend or foe.

As for John LeClair vs. Tim Kerr...I honestly couldn't choose between them. Just two awesome players who, as Bill alluded to, were amazing to watch in their primes.

I'm with you! I honestly thought Timonen, Johnsson and Pronger were no brainers, and even though his best seasons were in the 90s, Desjardins was an easy choice too. The only close one for me was taking Coburn over Therien, Hatcher and Ragnarsson.

The best way I can sum up the Leclair/Kerr debate would be if I could have Leclair for even strength play and Kerr for the powerplay.

All kidding aside, one advantage Leclair had over Kerr was that he got to play with a dominant center in Lindros. While Kerr played with some fine centers (Poulin, Zezel, Eklund etc..) none came close to the Big E. Who can say how many more goals Kerr may have scored if he had a true #1 centerman to play with.

No love for Mike Rathje? He worked his ass off preparing for those annual physicals in order to be put on the LTIR

I can understand Johnsson(although I did vote for him) not being at 100%, but not Timonen. Kimmo's been everything the Flyers expected since the day he signed his contract here.

He's right up there with Randy Jones, Jaroslav Modry and the immortal Bruno Gervais!

I'm surprised you didn't abstain, with no Lasse Kukkonen on the ballot.

I thought about it, I didn't vote for Pronger, as well as he did it wasn't enough games for me.

I did vote for him, basically because of the influence he had on the 2010 run. Kimmo, Johnsson, Pronger, Desjardins & Pitkanen were my picks

And yet still another year for the Gervais legacy to grow.

With that criteria, you could make a similar case for choosing Matt Carle over somebody like Desjardins.

I like Coby, but I don't think he's ever been as consistently effective defensively as Therien was, even toward the end of his time w/ the Flyers.

- Tomahawk

Exactly why I picked Carle over Desjardins. Rico's wheels fell off in the 2000 playoffs and wasn't the same afterward.

I think he won the best defenseman trophy for the team a couple of years back.

I read many of the sites with interest and this is the only one I notice where an injured player is written off.
Most of the other sites and teams anticipate their return.

Written off? Heck, people here have clumps of dirt on a shovel awaiting his passing.

Bob Corkum wasn't here very long but he was excellent on draws. Dave Poulin was no slouch, either.

Hatcher ahead of Coburn?

So much for longevity with this team

ob's monitor has Kukkonen written on it, in crayon, as a write-in vote.

Forget about the 2000's. Timonen is one of the best 5 defenseman in the history of the franchise.
