The goalies you mentioned are irrelevant, they were not on Schneiders level at the time of trade. Edmonton offered a 1st, 2nd, and top prospect for Schneider. The Canucks got fleeced on that one because Gillis screwed up the situation and didn't want to trade Schneider inter division. - benny948
Yep it was a last second trade and Gillis got taken by the ninja, Lou. |

I don't have to prove anything, the Oilers clearly had a better offer. You can't deny everything that the media says, there were so many reports indicating that the Oilers made a very significant offer. - benny948

pissed? says who?
when? link?
rumour at best and total fabrication at worst.
the only thing we do know for sure is what gillis said. which was that the 9th was the best offer they received.
ANYTHING else is conjecture - hugefemale dog77
Gillis is a liar, do you guys still seriously still believe him? He makes a mistake and tries to cover it up with lies. |

Can you prove that? There is speculation that Gillis is the one that wanted that package, you cannot prove that MacT is the one that offered that for him... - annoyance_101
You can't prove they didn't either. |

I see.
so now we're taking the 'insiders' comments over the actual gm's??
let's sit and think about that statement for a second..................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
k. so now you realize how silly you sound right?
do we really even need to get into how the rumour game and the insider business actually works?
this is dumb. we have nothing concrete proof that anything other than what the gm involved in the deal said is true. period |

Like I said, he covers up is mistakes with lies. Status should not automatically grant trustworthiness. |

Hackett is ready. Makarov and Knapp should be ready in a few years as well. We don't have one goaltender. - benny948
Enroth and Hacket as your goaltenders...thats a wise decision, you should take over for Darcy I'm sure everyone in your division would love you for it |

There aren't many pieces on the Sabres roster that would be of interest to the Oilers.
They certainly wouldn't have any interest in Miller or Stafford. |

Stafford might be interesting in a new setting...he doesnt seem like the worst player but needs a new start somewhere, that being said the most i'd give up for him is a 2nd at most |

He hasn't been moved because Darcy is waiting until the deadline to trade him to a contender lacking a goalie. That is when he will get value. Miller has value, unlike Luongo. I am sure that you realize that. Not all goalies that teams are trying to get rid of are worth nothing. - benny948
You know how rare it is for a team to be a contender and not be set in goal? |

Kaleta, Ott, Foligno, Grigorenko, Hodgson, Myers, McBain, maybe Stafford, maybe even Ehrhoff. And if he wanted to be here Miller could be okay.
There are some okay pieces on Buffalo for sure. I don't think we'd go out of our way to acquire these guys but they would be of interest to the oilers. |
