if we were to take that salary dump on us you would have to at least throw in a 1st rounder minimum
- French-Connection

Any pick would have to be conditional on Miller re-signing.

I'd do Hemsky + conditional 1st for Miller + Buffalo's 1st

I don't know where you get some of these crazy thoughts of your from, Garth. But I agree that this trade would be ridiculous.

Miller is an elite goalie, there are just a ton of options out there right now and he has a huge price tag which is making his value less than what the sabers are probably looking for.

Frankly i'd tend to agree with you garth. But people seem to forget something, this year at least there is a faulse cap. Teams are allowed to goa certain amount over it. I doubt hemsky would be the only player going to bufalo if that dea was to happen but you can bet your sorry A** he's a part of that deal. If we're taking millers horrible contract, your taking hemsky and thats that. You'll get a good prospect D probably maybe even two but you'll still get alis hemsky.

How is it a salary dump? Miller's cap hit is $6.25 million and Hemsky's is $5 million. Both will be UFAs at the end of this coming season as well. Of course this would mean that the additional players/prospects/picks are a wash in salary.

because Miller would most likely re-sign, not a chance we would re-sign Hemsky..unless his play was outstanding, which I dont like the odds

As far as Hemsky goes, he'd probably be really open to re-signing with you guys, he's actually a team guy.

It's really not the Oilers responsibility to pay extra for Buffalo acquiring a guy and deciding not to re-sign him.

Why is there a better chance Miller resigns than Hemsky? I hear Miller would prefer to be in the East and isn't Hesmky and Vanek buddies?

It may not be Hemsky per se, but I dont think it will be anyone that much better either. No offense, but I think Miller is on the downhill. Put him on a better team and who knows, but that doesn't help much in terms of value.

Not a troll post.

Have NO interest in cry baby Miller.
Will happily take Foligno or Grigorenko though.

Since when is having three skilled RWs each with 60 plus point potential a problem?

From my experience, when players say they want to 'go west', they mean, 'to a cup contender or the closest thing to Los Angeles I can get'

Maybe he wanted to go West when Detroit was in the Western Conference because he is a Michigan boy. His wife's family is from New York, I think the East is where he will end up next summer.

I would rather have him as a backup over Scrivens. That being said,

dont see what would not be appealing about the Oilers and all their young talent ready to blossom

They suck as hard as buffalo and for longer.

If Miller is at the "show me we can win" stage with the Sabres, why would he be patient with the Oilers?

Off the top of my head, I see Philadelphia, St Louis, Winnipeg, Calgary, Minnesota, San Jose, Colorado and Pittsburgh being better fits in the league for Miller than Edmonton.

Fair enough but that doesn't mean he will resign with Edmonton. If she's in California, then he probably wants to end up there too.
