Hackett, Knapp and Makarov..most likely a toss up here with Hackett as the favorite I guess..I am more excited about Makarov..but Enroth has shown stong stretches of course he would be number 1

No... Management would be foolish to rush him. However, given their track record... I wouldn't be surprised. Many more d prospects a head of him on the depth chart.

The Oilers will eventually have to make a bold move though...they have the most expensive forward group of any cap compliant team. With the RNH deal next year and Yak the year after they need to do something to have a more balanced team.

Need some size in the pacific division...with LA, Anaheim, Vancouver, SJ, its gonna be tough to take a spot from one of those teams

the Oilers are gonna be amazing this year..I really see their goaltending as their biggest question mark..all those other teams are way more solid in the nets than them in an 82 game schedule..

I believe he will be a solid NHL defenseman no matter how he develops. I think his offensive game needs work. At worst he will be a more physical Brayden Coburn. A guy who can skate, provide size and play top 4 minutes.

If his offense develops, he can be a top pairing guy.

We can get way more for miller elsewhere. I still say keep him. If he still wants to leave at the deadline than teams will start a bidding war and get more for him then than we would now.

Playoff bound teams rarely upgrade their starting goalie at the deadline. Regier should take the best offer for Miller before camp and get started evaluating whether Enroth can carry the load.

my brother is a diehard Philly fan, he and I were pretty convinced Miller was gonna land in Philly about a month ago..as for prospects??..we are pretty deep at D but then again you can never have enough D in your system..so my guess it would be a ready NHL'r D or F and a 1st rounder..if we got more we would have to take a salary dump also..I dont expect us to be able to rip off somebody the way we ripped Minny in the Pomer deal, or Vancouver in the Hodgson deal but we should get a solid return for sure, Miller could be a number 1 for the next 5 years easy somewhere..and a great mentor as well

I'm not sure about Risto... I don't think buffalo should rush him into the line-up. There is a logjam at D right now. I think he plays at least 1 year in the AHL.

agreed, and Darcy usually wins his trades, but the clock is against us here on this one, so I just hope he gets a fair return and does not get greedy at the last minute etc

Here's why this is a joke. The Sabres are supposedly rebuilding. You don't trade your face of the franchise goalie for a player with the same 1 year remaining on his contract. The only way this is even remotely true would be if the prospects involved from Edmonton were Yakapov or RNH. Otherwise there is no sense in discussing this. Obviously something else would be going back to Edmonton maybe McNabb, Ruhwedel maybe even Pysk. I do think getting a first for Miller would be a stretch but seriously this isn't worth discussing unless some major young pieces were involved. You don't make a trade just to make a trade here

The money won't work. Flyers are always up against the cap. If they trade for a high priced player they need to unload salary. I'm sure Vinny, Streit and Hartnell will all become a financial burden in a couple years.

Flyers are pretty set at goalie for next season. I was thinking more in terms of trading prospect for prospect. You guys giving up a goalie. Flyers giving up a skater. Flyers best forward prospect is Scott Laughton. He's NHL ready and a good two way center. At worst he's a 3rd line center who can match up against top lines while also putting in 40pts. At best he's a second line center who plays good two-way hockey and can put up 60-65 pts.

I meant this upcoming year. He will, at the very least, get a long look. Players will usually make it clear when they're ready.

Buffalo may be more cautious after what happened last year though. I wouldn't blame them. I don't think waiting one year would stunt growth at all.
