cmon, where is the faith??

10 games over .500 is more than possible

- French-Connection

It is.

Alot of years of failures makes it hard to remain optimistic.
Theyre getting better, but ill reserve judgment till i see how much that core has developed

you think its only gonna take 92 points to get in this year?
- annoyance_101

why not??..its always around that mark to have a solid shot..to be honest I picked the Oilers to finish 1st in my picks, not using logic but just a gut feeling..I really think they are gonna completely turn it around this year is a division where all the teams will be very close to each other..except calgary

The kings are the class of the division.
With the nucks and sharks following closely.
Anaheim is a question mark to replicate last years success.

Plus those pacific teams are all big, physical and rend to like slowing down the pace.
Not ideal for edmonton.

Gonna be tough.

well cmon, you guys cant lose forever..a rebuild is always a numbers game, I remember the Oilers turnaround in the 1981-82 season..they went overnight from under .500 to a powerhouse the next year..then a few years later after that, they were champs..so its stages a rebuild, I have seen many over the years..ur first stage is surprise the league this year with a major showing..my guess is a heartbreaking loss in the 2nd round..but then we are looking at a whole different scenario the following year

honestly??..I dont think anyone is..thats up for grabs IMO..I seen the way they stopped scoring this playoffs..I always judge an upcoming season by a teams playoff performance, they were good again but their offense turtled up again

If they make the playoffs and lose out in the first round I'm good with that. Then we expect playoff success. This isn't that old oiler team either.

I took that into consideration, the Oilers will need him for sure, but they could still come out flying..when it comes to a young team??..there is never a way to know how they are going to react

People were pegging them as a powerhouse for the past year...they missed the playoffs yet again...there is not a chance in hell that they are going to be 1st like you think

Who? The canucks?
They clearly have flaws, but their demise is exaggerated imo.
Sedins, kesler, burrows, depth on d and lu is still quality.

The kings are one of the top 3 or 4 teams in the league imo

Nobody with a real idea shouldve put them there before last season.
That core was just too young, with alot of flaws in other areas.

I think a few media guys took them as the sexy pick without alot of facts.
They finished close to where they shoulda.

They should be considerably better this year and battle for a playoff spot

I think if they finish high in the standings??..they will struggle to deal with being favored in a series, it would be way better for the Oilers to sneak into the playoffs and pull an upset in the 1st round and be hell to stop after..they could finish 1st in the division if they stayed healthy and matured all of a sudden..I really dont think any team in that division will do much better than 92-100 points..do u?

The nucks are still a good team. Top 8 imo.
But regressing and certainly not as good as the previous years.
Id pick them to finish 3rd in the pacific
