every starting goalie steals games during the year, every starting goalie..thats not proof of anything, he has never faced real pressure..I would be curious to know what he was his last 15 games or so if you want to make a statement..cause even though those are not playoff games they are pressure to some extent down the stretch..and I think the one mistake Oilers fans came here and made was comparing him to a proven guy like Miller, thats just plain stupid to do..wait till he at least wins a vezina or steals a playoff series like Miller has done in his career..its too soon to compare

I think Oilers fans just get tired of everyone coming in and spouting off about how Player X makes us an instant contender and that the Oiler he's replacing is the reason we're at the bottom of the standings.

For some, the upgrade is not worth the cost to acquire, the difference in salaries, the difference in chemistry/team fit and the fact that Miller would be gone in a year anyway.

As for that game, I pointed it out in reference to the notion that Dubnyk held us back. That was one of several instances in which he put the team on his back.

Miller would have to have a .980 SV% average
- laughs2907

I think Edmonton is a little better than that

well lowe has always wanted him but he has a different scenario now than back in 2007..and Darcy matching that offersheet was not a bright move

oh is Lowe out of the Oilers organization completely? Reminds me of the Acquillinis pulling the strings this off season for the Canucks...Some guys have more pull with organizations than we're willing to give credit for

Anyone who believes Dubnyk held us back last season simply didn't watch any of the games, or didn't even bother to look up his stats.

No he's not Kesler plays with broken bones though...and Kesler only starts the season injured in most cases...due to almost dying in the playoffs the year before

If you don't count last season which was a cluster(frank) of injuries for Kesler, half of which could have happened to anyone...he has only missed 7 games in the past 5 seasons...

- annoyance_101

I get that he plays injured, look he just is a shadow now of the guy I seen in that Nashville series

Yup. Lowe is finally the guy they have to fire if this season goes sideways. It's ridiculous that he's still around.

Lowe must have pictures of Katz doing something incriminating... That's the only reason I can see him still being employed by the Oilers.

I can see him dying under Torts...he was already willing to block shots and be on the penalty kill...what more could be asked of him? I'm afraid to find out the answer

It doesn't really bother me that much, because they basically created a BS position for him just to keep him quiet. I think he's VP of Team Octane's Asses or something now.

Make him the captain. I would, although its probably not worth pissing off the Sedins.
