Maybe colorado wants miller...Stastny for Miller...at the very least they'd get more out of Stastny than they would of Hemsky...Colorado isn't rock solid in goal either...maybe add Varlomov - annoyance_101
While that may be true, both are likely to walk from the Sabres should they be dealt here. It just doesn't make any sense for the Sabres to pursue those kinds of players at this time. I'm all for bringing in roster players but I don't want them bringing in rentals having them take ice time away from guys like Grigorenko. |

Hemsky has negative trade value, the blog is worth outrage. It would have to be a decent forward prospect from Edmonton and a D prospect from Buf, I just don't see any other means of achieving team needs. - benny948
if Horcoff can get a depth Dman and a pick, Hemsky doesn't have "negative value".
Not like Miller's worth a lot. Coming off of three pretty average seasons. His salary worth 10% of the cap this year. 1 year from UFA. |

Where are you wrong? Sweet baby Jesus...
First of all, Dubnyk had both a better GAA and Save % then Miller last year, behind what most would consider to be a very porous blue line.
Secondly, a 1st? For Miller? I'm not saying Hemsky is getting it done... But you sure as fack ain't getting a first, from Edmonton no less, for an aging Miller.
This may come as a surprise to many... But Dubnyk is the least of the Oils worries. - OilDerek
God, I really want Miller and his...
- Sh1tty attitude
- Worse numbers
- Larger contract

I'm not sure if they would be rentals, at this point they'd be playing top minutes...offensively they don't have that many options... |

keep telling yourselves that...its not all about numbers. Dubnyk gives up bad goals at the worst times - flashfire
And he saves 2-3 shots a game that he has no business saving... It all equals out. Numbers do count. |

They both have 1 year left is what I meant. And the thing on ice time is exactly my point. I don't want guys like Hemsky or stastny eating up ice time from guys like Foligno, Grigorenko, Armia etc. |

You do know that he plays in the same division as Chara and Subban right? Isn't he the active points leader vs the bruins? I'm sure he'd do just fine out west. - Sabresfan-365
The 3 i mentioned play extraordinarily dirty...there is also matt cooke and torres you have to think about in the west...brown isn't exactly someone you'd like to mess with either...not saying that there arent big players in the division he already plays in, but hes already fragile as is, he has to travel more in the west, that will play a factor also... |

Well I cant disagree with that last point, i dont see this fantasy trade happening, but all I was saying is if you're going to trade Miller, it will not be for a lot more than what Schneider got the Canucks...thats all... |

Depends on his division as far as travel goes. And he was fine when cooke played in the east for several years. Vanek doesn't do much that would compel someone to want to after him. He's a lot tougher than most people give him credit for. Plus there's a good chance that if he does go out west, he'll end up playing for a team with one of those three guys so I wouldn't be too concerned about that. |

I agree completely. I really like Miller but I just don't see goalies in general having the same value as they used to.
10 years ago a goalie was drafted 1st overall. 10 years later people get crucified for even thinking about drafting a goalie in the 1st round. Times have changed, management teams seem to put more stock into positional players than goaltenders. At this point 80% seem interchangeable leading to the same result standings wise. |

That would be completely pointless. The whole point in bringing in stastny would have been to have him play with Vanek. At this point I'd rather Hodgson than 1 year of Stastny at 6.6 mil.
Colorado's main focus should be on defense anyways, adding Vanek doesn't really address their key issues. - Sabresfan-365
You would have them both...not either or |
|

I see a Vanek for Statsny trade in Buffalo's future as well. Colorado would have to include another piece to complete the trade. - quinnjj
hope so, Minny fans have already penciled him in going there as a UFA |

I'd gladly take Miller in EDM. It'd obviously cost more than Hemsky, but BUF fans have to realize he's a rental right now Coming off of an average year. Cap hit of 6.25M.
Doesn't have the same value he had in '09. |

Miller to the Oilers makes sense...
Puts them in they playoffs, and possibly a contender if the kids grow up fast
Hemsky to Buffalo makes no sense
We're rebuilding... Young players/prospects and draft picks are what we'd be looking for
This was a dumb blog
But I guess it got some hits |
