I think Quick, Howard and Schneider may all be above Miller on the Team USA depth chart at this point. - PhillySportsGuy

Lets agree that this deal will absolutely never happen... The 1st is a non-starter. For Mac T to use a first rounder for anything but a top pairing D would be travesty. - OilDerek
I can agree with that... The defense is awful.
Not that Buffalos was much better last year. |

if Darcy had any brains he would have really tried to push for this trade last year much harder..last thing I want is to see Miller gone for cheap and have Enroth as number 1 |

BUF fans seem to overvalue miller, hes an amazing goalie but think about this... hes going to leave Buf after next year, and then the sabres get nothing in return, i think that hemsky and a 2nd or even 3rd is fair, but hemsky a 1st AND a prospect or another nhl ready player??!! thats too much for a goalie whos going to test UFA the second he has a chance. |

its cool, I hope the Oilers stick with basically the same team...get hyped up all summer and into fall. Its makes it more satisfying when they tank - flashfire
Who is hyping them? Not me... I'm not saying that Miller is horrible. I am not saying Ales is fair value... What I am saying is that Miller does not solve any immediate need... Dubnyk, while largely in-proven is not the Oils most glaring weakness. |

Do the Sabers have any goalies in the system other than Enroth? Younger guys who may not be ready for a year or two? Or is it just Enorth's or a FA if Miller is traded? |

I like Miller, and think he's an excellent goalie, but here in Buffalo ppl def overvalue him. I think the oilers need to shore up their blue line, and team defense in general. Miller would help them for sure, but I wouldn't give up what some ppl are suggesting. On the other hand, Miller for Hemsky doesn't sit right with me as a Sabre's fan. I like Hemsky, but I can't help be reminded of Connolly. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Miller but Regier needs to make a decision soon. I don't think they'll be as much deadline interest in him as ppl expect. - tomt8391
honestly, I really think he will be gone before the deadline..but then again, we are talking about Darcy |

I live near Edmonton and they seem to be getting the usual summer treatment..."on the verge of an amazing season, darkhorse for the cup" these guys are delusional sorry for lumping you in every Oilers fan I know and most of the media does this every summer |

Miller is awesome despite last year, look at his numbers of his career..2 years ago down the stretch when we almost got in he was the hottest goalie in the league..again..so last year he lost his heart for the first time, hell he's entitled, he is the 2nd best goalie in our history and no way we let him just go for nothing - French-Connection
Second best goalie in the history of a team that to date has won SFA? I would rather stick with Dubnyk and our first next year every day of the week than 1 year of Miller. I'm sure hoping MacT thinks the same way, the trade you are talking about is absolutely bad for the Oilers. |

well you might be the only fan in the world in Edmonton that thinks Dubnyk can help you more than Ryan Miller, dont get me wrong, you guys are on the verge of an amazing season IMO..but for us to give away a goalie that can lead a team to a stanley cup would be plain stupid of us to do for nothing..everybody in the NHL world knows the Oilers want to get rid of Hemsky badly..and I guarantee we will get a 1st rounder in the deal for Miller, thats a no brainer..hell look what we got for Pomer from Minny - French-Connection

Understood... I am cautiously optimistic. Hoping for playoff hockey next season. A lot of planets have to align for the Oilers to squeak in... As with everything, only time will tell.

I agree with you. IMO Hemsky and prospects are not the same worth as miller. Not even close. - LizzyJo
Unfortunately thats what Millers value has come down to now. Darcy's failure to get him moved at the draft caused other teams to fill the voids in other ways, thus effectively killing Millers potential market to 2 teams: Edmonton )even if I dont agree with it and dont see it happening) and St. Louis.
While Hemsky isnt exactly what wed all be looking for (older player, pending UFA), if the prospect(s) are right, this could be the most realistic deal until the season starts. If this deal can net us Hemsky (who I have always wondered how good he could be with Vanek) and a solid prospect (Marincin, Hamilton, Zharkov), id be OK |

Hackett, Knapp and Makarov..most likely a toss up here with Hackett as the favorite I guess..I am more excited about Makarov..but Enroth has shown stong stretches of course he would be number 1 |

The Oilers will eventually have to make a bold move though...they have the most expensive forward group of any cap compliant team. With the RNH deal next year and Yak the year after they need to do something to have a more balanced team.
Need some size in the pacific division...with LA, Anaheim, Vancouver, SJ, its gonna be tough to take a spot from one of those teams |

Hamilton?... Sure... Zharkov?... Why not? Marincin for one year of Miller... Not a good deal for the Oil IMO.
