Hemsky has seasons of 77, 71, 66 points and three seasons of similar PPG. You'd be hard pressed to argue he's not cut out for the NHL.

I kinda figured with the likes of Vanek, Hodgson, and Stafford you'd be looking for more of a setup man.
- Morris

Vanek will be gone for sure, Stafford we would move if we could get somebody to bite and Hodgson we still have to get signed

He was lecturing us about how bad Jeff Schultz was defensively. That's the only Schultz we're NOT responsible for

Kaleta, Foligno, Girgensons, maybe Stafford. These are the guys on the Sabres the Oilers would covet most. Obviously a wide range of price tags there.

Miller has had one bad year in his entire career, last year..and he still stole games for us..we would have had a losing record last year if it wasnt for him easily

Well, Vanek, unfortunately is going to Sign(UFA) with the Wild next year, although he will be dealt for solid value before the deadline for a contenders cup run. Miller will be a lot harder to deal for value at the deadline. As far as "setup", ie. playmakers, yeah of course we need those. At this point though, I think it's about getting as many quality NHL talented players for 2-3 years down the road for our rebuild. Hodgson will be one of them...Stafford will be playing for his NHL career over the next couple years.

Kaleta for Hall. Sounds fair. Need based trade. Oilers need toughness Sabres need players who know how to play hockey

Once Hall gets there, he'll forget how to play though...seems to be a common trend with the Sabres

he said proven not experienced. And yes there is a difference.
For the record I think that Schneider is better but the reasoning here is weak.

Where are you wrong? Sweet baby Jesus...

First of all, Dubnyk had both a better GAA and Save % then Miller last year, behind what most would consider to be a very porous blue line.

Secondly, a 1st? For Miller? I'm not saying Hemsky is getting it done... But you sure as fack ain't getting a first, from Edmonton no less, for an aging Miller.

This may come as a surprise to many... But Dubnyk is the least of the Oils worries.

- OilDerek

You must not be too high on your teams odds this year if you think your 1st rounder is likely to be that valuable (like 1st - 5th overall, maybe?).

If Paul Gaustad can get Nashville's 1st round pick at the deadline, we are WAY better off waiting until the deadline this year.
