again, travel is huge and experience in this league is huge. Panthers will have trouble with that. Amazing how no one commented on that, Panthers were dead last year even with a 48 game schedule. Guys like Shore and Huby didn't produce much towards the end of the season, just hope they are ready this year.

Gomez is def a great player to sign, especially at 900k. Hes gotten a lot of trash talked about him deservedly so due to his lack of production when he was over paid. But if he is paid what he deserves then hes good just like anyone else. No player can ever be worst for a team than scottie upshall, I cant wait for tallon to get rid of him. We should be a good team this upcoming season, I think that tallon wanted us to finish last place due to the talented draft class and it was way too easy to lose in a shortened season. The season before last; our team was freakishly good. When we played bad in 2011-2012' dineen would talk to the team and they would instantly turn into a complete puck possesion team and dominate, the other team wouldnt be able to outplay us once dineen spoke. This year Huberdeau, shore, bjugstad, howden and, matthias will all be much better. Add in a kid who i think is going to be a star in trocheck and weve got a better team than we did in 2011-2012. I just hope our defense does good, Petrovic looks like he had spaghetti legs every time he was on the ice last season..

our division almost guarantees us a top 5 pick. Panthers can't skate with Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit and Ottawa. Might have some luck vs Tampa and Buffalo that's about it, not to mention the travel this team will have. Mix all that in with the young guys who aren't accustomed to a full 82 game schedule. Huby isn't even accustomed to a full season. That pretty much sums it up and our goaltending situation isn't a complete lock either. Markstrom can look great and poopty all at once. Have faith though, maybe a miracle can happen lol bahhahahahaha

You talk about OUR team like they've never played hockey before. Travel time? I'm sure the travel time is the least of their worries. Boston,Tampa,Buffalo, and Detroit aren't exactly 20 hours away! Same goes with the 82 game schedule. Really? While it may not have been in the NHL, these players have been playing hockey their entire lives and I'm sure they're accustomed to playing a lot of hockey and traveling around. Not to mention, just how many rookies do you expect on the team? Huberdeau isn't a rookie, yes he hasn't played a full season yet, but he's still not a rookie. Barkov? Markstrom? Shore? I highly doubt Shore,Bjugstad,Howden, and the rest of our rookies ALL make the squad. We actually have NHL players on our team that are used to the travel.

I am sure you spewed the same hateful garbage two seasons ago when Tallon brought in a lot of new faces and we won the Division. I am sure it went something like this " All those old vets and useless players Tallon overpaid for won't matter to this team. We'll be a top 5 draft team again"

Top three teams make it. Then it comes down to points for the last two spots. One division can have either 3 teams make it, 4 teams make it, or 5 teams make it. For example, if in the Metro (lol) division it's PIT 105 pts, NYR 100 pts, NJD 98 pts, NYI 97 pts, PHI 86 pts, WSH 85 pts, and CAR 80 pts, CLB 78 pts.. and in the Atlantic division looks like BOS 109 pts, MTL 108 pts, DET 96pts, OTT 95 pts, TOR 94 pts, FLA 93 pts, TBL 90 pts, and BUF 82 pts... the teams to make the playoffs are the first three in each division so Pit, NYR, NJD, BOS, MTL, and Det. After that it will go by point totals for the last two spots. So NYI and Ott take the last two, or "wild card", spots.

As far as seeding goes, I think it ends up being:

Bos (#1 overall) v. Ott (WC2)
Mtl(#2) v. Det (#3)
Pit (#1) v. NYI (WC1)
NYR (#2)v. NJD (#3)

I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. It's #1 vs. WC 2 and then #2 vs. #3, then #1 in the other conference vs. WC1 and then #2 vs. #3. It's seriously more complicated than it needs to be. Just make it the top 4 in each conference, damnit!

Exactly! He doesn't come on here to talk hockey, he comes on here to bash the Panthers regardless of their situation. I'm sure he bashed them all season long in 2011-12 yet we won the division as well as took the Devils to 7 games, double OT.
It's too bad he's too much of a douchebag and that this website doesn't have moderators to block him from bothering us, but... He is wrong! This organization has done a 180 from what it used to be regardless of ownership. We have a REAL GM who has a real track-record of success. He built the Hawks who have won 2 Cups in 4 years... We have REAL coaches ( minus trainers, they need to be replaced). Our system is one of the best in the entire NHL. Our roster is completely revamped and improved,even with Weiss gone and some new, young faces. Yes, our roster has some bad contracts but players like Campbell ( by far our best D) and Jovo give our youth real vets with tremendous successful careers. Upshall is a waste, but when healthy, Upshall can produce. Tallon has given us fans a real team that has every opportunity for success, and once this team starts winning on a regular, I'm sure well get some more owners who won't be scared to invest some real money to build a franchise that has continuing success much like Chicago, Boston, and Pittsburgh.
I'm sure that a**hole will disagree but when the Panthers raise the Cup in the near future, he can kiss my ass and shut the f**k up!!
