Here's a newflash for you, Ace, that is pretty much exactly what happened to my Irish ancestors and those of millions of Americans, Canadians, etc in their country from 1670 or so until and through the Potato Famine.
Then they came ot this country and died by the tens of thousands in the Civil War of a country that viewed them as sub-human.
The experiences are different, and in many ways that of Natives in the US is much worse without question, but you are truly being foolish based on the simple notion that the Hawk logo is a tribute to a MAN and represents what he wore and carried. It is not a stereotypical, insulting portrayal, like, some might argue, the Indians or Fighting Irish logo.
You are taking political correctness to a ridiculous extreme, because you think you can. But you really have nothing to stand on.
It is a tribute. That's the problem with your argument. - John Jaeckel

I started working on the evaluation of the prominent 2014 prospects and finished the top ten initial descriptions at DraftSite.
Also attempted and early top 60 which you will see stolen on HockeysFutures in a few second from now...
More sons of former players on their way....

A couple of quick thoughts:
1) If you're going to allude to stars of yesteryear as reasons to be a fan today, you could at least mention Doug Wilson....
2) 20. Teuvo Teravainen, an electrifying prospect out of Finland who is sort of a smaller version of Hossa, with some Kane thrown in
That's a helluva characterization! I can't help but be skeptical that isn't a grandiose exaggeration. But I wouldn't know, and enjoy believing that this is true. I hope it is.
Re the logo comments, IMHO the Chicago Bears home uniforms are the best in the history of any sport, at least the traditional ones that emphasize the navy blue and white and don't go orange crazy (all the variants of which I hate).
And I'm not going to touch the Native American logo controversy here for the sole reason that this isn't a political forum, and the issue cannot be discussed openly or competently without getting political. It just can't...

For those wanting Stan to sign LaRose it looks like he's gone AWOL:

Odd, there must be more to the story. - DarthKane
I read about that this morning. It seems like LaRose doesn't want to return to Carolina. Who can blame him? Who the hell wants to play with Semin anyways? |

Thank you kind sir. I have been a long time fan of the Hawks. Pretty much lived in the Old Barn during my misspent youth. Look forward to adding my opinion from time to time. I still can't believe I have witnessed 2 cups in 4 years. |

The Trail of Tears is a name given to the forced relocation and movement of Native American nations from southeastern parts of the United States following the Indian Removal Act of 1830. The removal included many members of the Cherokee, Muscogee (Creek), Seminole, Chickasaw, and Choctaw nations, among others in the United States, from their homelands to Indian Territory in eastern sections of the present-day state of Oklahoma. The phrase originated from a description of the removal of the Choctaw Nation in 1831. - Leafland[1]
Many Native Americans suffered from exposure, disease and starvation on the route to their destinations. Many died, including 60,000 of the 130,000 relocated Cherokee, intermarried and accompanying European-Americans, and the 2,000 African-American free blacks and slaves owned by the Cherokee they took with them.[2][3] European Americans and African American freedmen and slaves also participated in the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muscogee Creek and Seminole forced relocations.[4]
